I hold Polk and i read the boards and MR.Space view on executive shareholding is a correct view IMO, back in the day i was working in Irish banks and UK start ups in the financial services.
- Irish bank staff and staff life insurance companies got shares as part of their compensation and could also buy cheaply, they all held never sold, one chapIi worked with had a 4th kid and sold a significant part of his shares and built a large extension onto his house for the family...he now calls it the “ The Thank F...Extension" after the company went down the tubes in the financial fall- out over there.
-i also worked with Merrill Lynch and HSBC collaboration that was going to take over the world, the person whom i worked quite closely with was an American, the first time i met him he was referring to something called mother, i said who the F is mother and he replied Merrill Lynch, the American staff also held onto every share they were given/bought a reduced prices.
I said he was mad, Merrill lynch supported and advised the view that diversification was a must in investing, and he got very huffy with me ...he of course was lucky that Merrill was rescued after the fiasco of shutting down one of its competitors Leham Brothers, he only lost half his money and no doubt recovered it fully if he held on.
Executive holdings are not great indicator of business success ...IMO
