My original concerns over political risk have been somewhat assuaged by the Tanzanian Government/Barrick settlement, which I believe was excellent and under appreciated news.I cannot find better economics than we have at ACP and I love the fact that the CEO is very cost conscious and puts his own money where his mouth is.

A few shares will have been allocated to the brokers short term hedge fund mates who would have flipped for a penny profit-maybe up to 15/20 million shares-these mostly would have been sold today. Next week should see firmer progress being made as things settle down.

Ivor and TDT2-I am no expert on detailed mine designs so appreciate your insights and tend to agree with you.I am sure the main driver here is to strengthen the negotiating position with debt providers.The nickel price will take care of the off takes, the equity will be what it is, but balance sheet is important in most debt negotiation-though again I am no expert in mining finance.The CEO was pretty confident on the interview-he appears to be I the driving seat so to speak.The debt negotiations will be entering their final phase and he knows banks want to lend.It may be simplistic, but to my mind this is all about achieving the best debt deal possible now.

Wasa-think you are being (sensibly) conservative again here. With £30 million on the balance sheet I think we may see as low as $40 million or cc£29 million equity in the big deal-mostly going to the cornerstone and a few other instos.Priced at 12p that gives us another 240 million shares so 1.9 to 2bn shares. All conjecture of course.This is so fundable now they will not need much equity.

TDT2-you could well be right and I hope so. I do feel this clears the path for future share price progression and new institutions coming on board-would love to see the names that participated. Also hope this reduces equity component of the big deal, which must be almost sown up by now. Hopefully also stronger balance sheet equals better debt terms.

Yes VV-I think that was exactly what was happening. Several of us on here havecommented on the odd trading patterns recently. We also know that they started marketing to institutions just after their new Presentation came out in January and got a "very good reception", but no institutional buyers appeared. Then Cantor picked up "research" coverage out of the blue. As ATD just said, this has been a few weeks in the making, but it is done now. Credit to HZM that this did not leak-took us all by suprise, but perhaps we should have read the tea leaves better.

As said earlier-hopefully this is very oversubscribed, so the instos will be scrapping for shares in the open market. I suspect it is already placed. The more I think about it the more I like it.

No they still have a non binding term sheet with the cornerstone equity provider.
Good to see Jefferies-an aggressive and credible investment bank is on the team.This deal is piddly for them-they are around for a much bigger picture.

Canadian bought deal component also interesting-they stated they wanted to utilise the Toronto listing better.

Yes definitely looks like it has been pre-marketed and will be wrapped up overnight and done by the open tomorrow.Hopefully oversubscribed so new institutions will be buying in the market to fill their requirement.

Now we know why Jefferies appeared and why they had commenced meetings with institutions.As said below was not expecting this, but see it as positive and will hopefully strengthen their debt negotiation ability.

Volume is one of the indicators I always watch carefully and today the volume here is actually pretty good compared to the last few sessions.Having pulled back at the open we have stabilised and someone appears to be accumulating.Without trying to bore you all-remember that ex our cash pile are operational business is only valued at £420 million now and that is using the latest reported cash figure of £91 million.
