TDT2-I see your logic here, but disagree with it. On the basis that none of us will really know until we see the RNS,I would argue the following:
-JM is in the driving seat big time now with the cornerstone-Vale, Glencore, BHP, Teck, Orion and maybe even Anglos or Rio would probably all like to cornerstone this deal-probably with a contingency of first bite at Vermelho. This gives JM big optionality and pricing power on the equity.
-As has been argued on here by Wasa and others-we are currently capitalised at US$168 million-at current prices the $100m of cornerstone equity equates to 37% of the total equity after the deal. I think the cornerstone could well end up paying a fairly decent premium to our currently very undervalued equity price if he wants the full US$100m. Alternatively the shares are forced up pre deal to make the maths work. That is why I, and I guess other LTHs on here, have been adding on the recent weakness.
