Can I just check - do we really have enough cash to buyout Bluestar (my amateur quick search says we only have £3m), and what about our/HE1’s day to day cash needs?

So what part will HE1 be playing in this Bluestar capital raise, if any? Issuing more shares to take a bigger stake in Bluestar? The other 50% is worth just £5m, but would need to issue 3-4bn HE1 shares at a significant discount to raise this.

Perhaps we will find out in 17 mins time!

Would institutional holders accept 30p? Sadly I think yes and my vote against will be an irrelevance (too much of a gamble on the debt being extended AND the management turning this around).

This should trade at 25p plus from when the accounts are released (possibly even this week although I reckon next month).

The only people who could take part in the 0.54p share issue were existing shareholders. They knew their allocations this morning so many may have already sold these from their existing holding, knowing that the shares will then be replenished on Monday. Those that have done this will have made 15%+. I do not therefore see a sudden increase in sales next week, and also think the volume of buys today is significant.

Decent takeover price just announced. Tasty 30% for me in much shorter timeframe than I expected. I’m sure others will be making almost 50%.

For the first time in a while. I am able to get quotes for 10m+ size trades, buys and sells. This is not the norm, even on days where we have had news and reasons for greater trading volumes. Spread is 89-91

What am I missing? This heavily discounted share issue will cause massive dilution, so why isn't the share price crashing down further? The pending suspension also doesn't help.

I think they will just release one tomorrow morning to confirm suspension (as they previously advised). During this suspension we can dream of other firms taking a look at Wood Group, but it does depend on how nasty the revised numbers look.

If they renegotiate the loans then I’d prefer to see some management changes and stick with this for a year or two to maximise shareholder value.

Sadly this one is done - well done if you bought below 35p. I can't see another party making an offer as it sounds a mess and needs refinancing. The alternative to accepting this offer is massive equity dilution, or worse.

Time to move on.

@JamesOxford - that is not the case. Unaudited accounts are still formally prepared and signed, just not checked by a 3rd party, so they can still be reliably used.

To me, this mornings messages show the lack of quality on here. Those suggesting this was a good news RNS receiving far more “likes” than those rationally saying they thought it was negative.

In my view there will be a significant fall today. Short-term traders etc will not want to be locked in if the shares are suspended. Also, the update sounds worse than expected to me. However, for those wanting a takeover, the endgame remains the same with Sidara still at the table - what todays RNS tells me though is that the price will be sub £1.

I have been involved in a few company takeover/purchase discussions over the years. The room is normally full of lawyers, and pretty scripted and slow going. I’ve seen this go on for weeks and still have the parties being way apart on price. So I dearly hope that a deal is reached (not many shareholders want the WG Board to continue) but there’s clearly still a risk that a takeover won’t happen. That will keep the price around 40p or lower (some recent investors will have still doubled their money) for another 3 weeks. There could then be another extension.

Fingers crossed that I have egg on my face and a takeover at £2 is announced by Friday!
