You mentioned kefis lawyers have been all over this for ages , what have they actually achieved? What have they actually done? That's not questions directed at you , neither of us really know , but all I see is a q&a from time to time saying we are looking at it from a legal point of view.

Reality the licences have been granted elsewhere and money spent on them ( albeit not very much at all)

Surely the time to challenge would of been the moment those licences were given elsewhere , what if a company spent a million on some drill holes and they hit the jackpot. The EG are gonna say thanks now hand over to kefi. , I dont think so.

Like I mentioned in a earlier post, kefi acknowledged those licences were not granted to them in 2018 , and a gentleman's handshake for me is just a fancy description of putting something aside.

Legally im still very much struggling to understand why kefi have such a claim. Their actions over the last 7-8 years to me anyway suggests the same , especially when harry has demonstrated he has been willing to spend a lot of money defending kefis intrests in court during the same time period.

"Put aside " doesnt sound like kefi are legally entitled to those licences , the fact kefi acknowledge that they were not granted in 2018 also makes me believe the challenge is weak at best.

You add the chinnese spent next to nothing. Agree that could be an area in which means they havent met the requirements, is askari looking at spending cash within the time frame, if not that might be a reason to put them up for anyone to apply , if they are , im unsure what anyone can do about it without askari having a decent defence.

Im sure there are bits not in the public domain but at the moment it sounds like nothing more then a gentleman's agreement. Again not strong in court

Just been looking at limited research , to try and find out a little more why kefi feel they would win a legal battle for the licences talked about.

My understanding , kefi inherited the licences in december 2013 when they brought 75% of tula kapi from nyota

Kefi released some trenching results in june 2015 , this trenching which they completed by hand. This confirming not only did they hold the licences but done some work there. Even though it was very limited and cheap.

My understanding through speaking to geologist in other shares i hold , is that there is normally a min spend attached to these licences , did kefi originally lose these because of that reason. (Speculation on my behalf)

The bit I struggle to get my head around is why kefi or investors here believe they should just be handed back.

July 2018 , kefi wrote in a presentation the following ......KEFI is well positioned to capitalize through to 2020 on its excellent

portfolio of Ethiopian exploration projects whilst the Tulu Kapi Project

undergoes concurrent development. KEFI has an area set aside in

principle by Government, for exploration of prospects within trucking

distance of Tulu Kapi, for GRANT upon commencement of development.

To me that reads that they have acknowledged they no longer hold those licences. And that they were simply put aside until tula kapi devolpment had started , (which is still ongoing over 7 years later) they also ackowledge the licences were not granted.

Kefi actually acknowledge they don't have them, this is the bit I struggle in my head at least to try and work out why they should be just handed over. If it was flipped and kefi had them but askari felt they were owed them as they were put aside , I dont think shareholders here would be worrying too much.

Sounds on paper at least , kefi had a verbal or gentleman's agreement, and it backfired.

I dont think such agreement is unlimited timebound either.

The flipside to that comment could be , who will want to invest in Ethiopia if they are threatening to take licences off companies that have them in good legal standing order.

There is not enough details currently , and the assumption they will be just handed over to kefi will look pretty corrupt in my eyes.

Money side of things , some companies hang on. Im amazed red rock resources are still going as example , they have been promising a resolution to the drc payout for ages.

You would think whatever happens down the line kefi will likley benifit in some capacity.

Lets face it , if a discovery is made , by whatever company , what would you do , build a mine or give kefi a ring to see where the landscape is.

Even if askari lose the licences , (you would need to think there's good reason) the licence application will surely be opened up to anyone and everyone . Yes kefi you would expect to be front runners.

But if a company comes in with proof of funds , a good track record of exploration and willing to spend more money then kefi exploring while also willing to hand over a bigger slice of the pie to the goverment , who let's add have gone on record as saying they want to open up to foreign investment, then whobwill they choose.

Kefi on the other hand wont need to build a plant to process , so capital you would imagine be a lot less overall.

Im pretty confident in my opinion that in 12 months from now those licences wont be in kefis hands.

But will be a intresting watch as it plays out

It only needs a decent drill hole and a major might want to J.V with them. Alternatively could be in the courts for god knows how long, look how long it took to sort kefis court dates out.

Whats kefis claim to those licences , the report said they were simply put aside for kefi, hardly wording your lawyers would want to read, and the licences were lost what 10 years ago , is any claim legally time bound.

If those licences become available of course you would expect kefi to be in the running, as pointed out they are on tk doorstep , but again these licences are very early stage and will need money spending on them , kefi dont have that yet.....

Personal opinion , I dont think option 5 is a possibility. If askari can legally sell to kefi then it must surely mean they are the rightful licence holders.

Id replace that scenario with its open for anyone to apply for those licences.

Indont see askari just giving them up without a fight. The c.e.i has been pretty billish on the licences and adamant after legal council that they are the rightful owners.

Im also not sure what legal claim kefi can have considering they were lost around a decade ago.

That said kefi can more then afford to wait it out. Its not as though they are leaving the area in the next decade, and if they make the money they claim , they will certainly become favourites to reclaim ifnthey become available
