Good to watch the Covid space.

My opinion is that science will either tame it or it will burn itself out. It may come close to doing this with Omicron.

However, the next pandemic may be around the corner. We are having one every 10 years and if they take hold for years at a time then it will be less than 10 years in real time.

Platform technologies such as AZ, Pfizer, Sclp will be in the thick of 1st defenders.

Dame Sarah Gilbert is probably right. Government need to defend us against pandemics as they would invading military forces.

mRNA vaccines are first generation

So we can either boost AZ, PF etc as they are looking fairly useless against Omicron. Or another vaccine may step forward to bridge the gap, but mRNA are usually a stop gap. Effectiveness wanes as we can see at the moment.

More likely is that second generation vaccines will be required. These are mostly DNA based vaccines and have been in development since the beginning of the pandemic. They are slower to develop but as a rule they give longer lasting protection (this is very important).

Scancell is a DNA vaccine but it is one of a handful that is specifically targeting the Nucleoplasid.

Like I say, Sclp vaccine may not make it but it certainly won’t be 20p a share one way or another for too much longer!

This seems to be the phase 3 study published in the lancet.

The vaccine seems to have good efficacy (83%) and good response including spike protein and some nucleoplasid. It is a inactivated virus vaccine (same type as Valneva).

Just skimmed through it mind and some information maybe interim.

Thanks for posting. Good to see the mention but that’s a pretty shabby write up for a Scancell! The reporter at least mentioned that it is a DNA vaccine but that’s about it. Looks like she checked Companies House and nothing else.

mRNA vaccines are quicker to develop but the main draw back is you have to keep boosting.

Scancell DNA vaccine should need little or no boosting but much will depend on the success of targeting the Nucleoplasid (N protein). Not many have taken this approach so if it works it could be interesting. They have also targeted the nodule of the spike protein (S) which is a Nobel approach.

Scancell have based this vaccine via its Moditope Platform. Added a touch of Avidity too (a booster). This vaccine is as much a shop window for Scancell platforms so it’s about attracting attention as anything else. Never know, it might even make it all the way.

Anybody know a pharmaceutical company that has a poorly performing vaccine against Omicron?

I just can’t see how a simple blood draw is dangerous!

That does however lead me to believe that fda are looking beyond the capture of whole intact CTC’s…

What one does with the live cells afterward is a concern for assays surely. A separate item?

Good to have your views. It is certainly worth investigating the competition don’t you think? Certainly for a novice like me anyhow, it helps me understand the whole space whilst not necessarily changing my conviction about Scancell.

I am with you 100%! But we do need data for covidity and the first sniff could be 8 to 12 weeks away yet. I could name 5 covid ‘joke’ stocks right off the bat that have a flying share price based on pure sentiment. I could name another 5 that have since crumbled to nothing after being over hyped. Isn't that just annoying! At least when we move up it will be based on fact and that means we will stay up.

Immunity Bio have 3 phase 1 candidates in trials for covid. Target S and N protein. They are a big concern that are looking at charging memory T cells, memory B cells and memory T +. Currently have 17 separate trials across cancer, HIV, covid etc. price has peaked at $50 this year, currently on my watch list @ $6.38.

Lets hope they get the main vaccines sorted within due course, after all, that is what we have in our bodies right now and what is likely to be added in the near to medium term.

However, with omicron and future variants are creating somewhat of an open goal, lets hope Covidity has its shooting boots on!

I had a walk in booster jab at Solihull 2 weeks ago (AZ AZ PF). Had to wait half an hour. The people that had appointments and turned up early were told to return at the appointed time. The reason I chose to walk in was that my local vaccine center had been stepped down (closed) and I didn't want to wait two weeks. I presume things have improved as the government has changed policy?

Having a platform really does make sense doesn't it: time, money, effort invested into it. The breakthrough and milestone moments. Then 'a need' that can be met that much easier as a result of all the previous hard work... ImmunoBody - Covidity. If it were me Id say - take Covidity and maybe one day we can talk about ImmunoBody. After all, Lindy and team have put a lot into the platform so why let any one get their greasy mitts on it? The potential of future pandemics we would need our platforms in our pockets.

Covidity is the shop window, slowly release the value. I guess it depends on investors time frames.

They have been dangling that tasty share price for a month or so now. Left my profits in here so lets see what happens next.

People seem to forget that at some point we all knew nothing about vaccines and science. Even Professors Sarah Gilbert and Lindy Durrant had to learn! On the whole I would say that we have much to learn from one another and usually this bulletin board is THE place to learn and swap ideas. Your attempt to have a discussion about the lecture has fallen largely on deaf ears. I guess some just love a bun fight.
