I guess the biggest risk to GGP is getting to production also before getting bought out.

Fair point. @ less than 6p I would think there is likely little downside here, however once it lifts off I would expect a truck load of volatility for some considerable time (years). Let's see where this goes.

That's the thing I am trying to judge with GGP, HZM & FAR. Worth waiting for the potential volatility to calm. Better to buy with a clearer picture even if they cost a few pence more? Already have positions in each so we will see, but anytime I have got involved with miners I get burned!

The bit I struggle with is that they are targeting the nodule of the spike protein which represents a better target?

Also it is targeting multiple strains which appears to be ahead of the curve.

I agree. It covers the 3 or more variants and would be classified as valent by definition. Since the design of our candidate, time and the virus has NOT stood still. Covidity may be highly effective against the multiple/dominant strains but it would be a case of adding belt too braces if she added Omicron. At least in the lab. I am sure Scancell are already looking at this. They have the money and resources to do this so why wouldn't they?

Does this count as a polyvalent vaccine Mr Whitty? Granted, Lindy might have to tweak Covidity a little, but what tremendous foresight she has.

Dropped my small holding in Boohoo. Listened to Paul Hill - VOX and checked the numbers. The unseen broadside was returns! There was somebody warning that they might have been an issue yesterday.

Regarding Evo, as we sell consumables I guess returns should not be an issue? Unless it’s a straight refund and we are known for refunding unhappy customers.

I suppose the problem with interim results is not everything comes out in the wash…

At the AGM - Lindy Durrant mentioned that low ball deals had been turned down and that we are developing further with a view to getting better deals. I think it’s a case of watch this space…

It’s worth remembering that we are not a 5p company with no cash anymore. That is exactly Lindy’s point. Redmile and Vulpes have given us the conviction to ask potential deal makers to take a walk and rethink offers!

I watched the Sareum AGM this morning and they have £4.5 million in cash that they raised in July. They don’t have Redmile and Vulpes or specialised backers of such so if they got an offer they’d be inclined to take it don’t you think? But not us. We can afford to wait IMO.

Getting back to Covidity. My first hope for news will be April/May 22. Possibly longer. Lindy hoped for ‘indications of the immune response by end of Jan or Feb, but we should be fair and not hold her to that.

Maybe an antibody deal but that’s a pure guess.

So the way I understand it mRNA is quick response.

DNA is slower to develop but usually has longer lasting response which would mean less need for boosting. That would be dependant on variants of course.

Is a deactivated vaccine mRNA or DNA or might it be either? I also understand that being as Valneva is a full but dead virus, it may provide wider coverage. I know Saul Faust of Southampton University Hospital was trailing that idea recently.

No doubt in Whitty’s war room they are aware of who has got the N protein covered. More than that comes our approach surrounding the spike protein. It will be a case of keep us informed… So come the early months of 2022 when data is available, the right people will know about it. Could be a turning point in the war against Covid but more likely we will be one of a handful of very promising weapons. All with different targets and objectives. All at different stages, resources and firepower. Much will come down to timing and evolution of the virus and pressures that it applies.

I am a big fan of Scancell but I am an investor first and that means I am looking at all the runners.

At first I wasn’t interested in our covid vaccine, but shrewdly (I believe) Lindy has based it on existing platforms. Now it’s a shop window for Scancell. There is substance and depth to our candidate and that could well prove very absorbing to potential partners. First we need to put it under the right peoples noses and that will come with the right kind of data.
