As several people have said several times, although the price of BTC is a significant factor in valuing ARB it is not the only one and most people holding onto their shares know that the business model makes a difference. Just to illustrate this, I plotted and correlated the daily adjusted closing prices of BTC and ARB since 1 January (standardising the price of ARB share to the price of 1 BTC on the start date). If you do this, you can clearly see how the value placed on the share by investors tracked BTC value almost precisely until mid February. When it rose exponentially compared to the proportional rise in BTC, and then exaggerated both the ups and downs. It regained parity with the relative value of BTC over time around mid April, dipped below it and has now risen slightly above it on current optimism (if anyone wants the pretty graph I can post it somewhere).

The point is not to infer that the SP is either or under some hypothetical/imaginary market value (not ramping, not deramping) - just to point out that it has not tracked the daily value of BTC in the past so there is no point in expecting it to do so in the future. As others have said, buyer optimism seems to have played a significant part at certain points in the cycle (some with and some without good reason).

Remember that 178 million shares in 88E is only about £1.25m, but yes there's some rapid transactions clocking up.

I see about 10 deals for 3+ million shares (upward of £30k). Out 950 trades, on and off book, the average was for just under 20k shares @ trade value of £2,600.

There is simply not enough demand from large buyers to rocket the SP. This might change during the week and with forthcoming news but for the moment it's largely the smaller investors and trades driving steady incremental movement on a daily basis. On Friday morning ARB was 148, it's now 195, shareholders are more than 30% up in less than 3 days. That is double the % rise in BTC over the same period.

(Alliance News) - 88 Energy Ltd on Tuesday said it has started testing samples from its Merlin-1 well in Alaska after initial mapping showed encouraging results.

Shares were up 14% to 1.37 pence in London near midday.

Results from the testing, which will determine oil saturation and characteristics, are expected over the next 10 weeks, the exploration and production company said.

While drilling the well, 88 Energy encountered zones that had previously been unmapped and showed good potential.

"The oil shows and other encouragement seen in the Merlin-1 well bodes well for the potential at Project Peregrine and we look forward to providing the results from the laboratory analysis over the coming weeks," Managing Director David Wall said.

The Perth, Australia-based company also said it is monitoring activity near the northern border of its other site in Alaska, Project Icewine, after Pantheon Resources PLC reported a flow of light oil on April 19. Pantheon had called the results "disappointing", but 88 Energy said they were "highly encouraging" for Project Icewine and that it's now reassessing the site's potential.

"It is also highly positive to see pay zones and a flow rate of light oil achieved from zones on adjacent acreage," Wall said.

Pantheon Resources was up 4.8% at 32.00p.

I agree, having seen the wildfire spread of informal systems of mobile money exchange in Africa (people transferring phone credit between friends, family and local traders) the popular culture base is already established there for widespread customer adoption of more formal systems. The Mastercard investment is significant here not just for the cash injection but the obvious credit systems know-how. Positive results in May will help build confidence in the core business but the mobile money side of the business that has the greatest upside potential, and way more achievable for a rapid transaction mass consumer market in the short term than any crypto.
