My criticism of smart-meters was the fact that we are charged for them indirectly through our utility bill whether we want one or not.
But your point, about not having a complete stranger coming into your home, makes a lot of sense.
You've got me thinking now ... hmm! maybe I should get one after all.

I totally agree with your last paragraph

Ed Davey, who was Energy Minister in the Tory/LibDems, decided in his wisdom to replace all the coal-burning generation with those ugly and useless wind-turbines.
But he went ahead long before the replacements were ready with the result that if we have a really long cold winter then we'll all be shivering in the dark.
He was also responsible for those stupid smart (?) meters the cost of which was added to our energy bill whether we wanted one or not (I don't).

And for all that stupidity, he was rewarded with a Knighthood … unbelievable!

If RKH do get the rumoured 300m Euro ( £250m ) compensation, that will give them about £290m total cash.
Thus the SP should double at least otherwise some-one could buy out RKH for the current market cap of £117m and still have £173m left over (minus tax owed to FIG) … plus own 40% of Sealion.

Or they could buy themselves out … stupid comment, I know but intriguing none-the-less!

I don't there is much chance of a takeover in the near future … I think Dr.T has now decided that going into full production is the best bet .. especially after taking Spirit as a partial partner.

When Ithaca was taken over by Delek (through a subsidiary) it already owned 19.7% of Ithaca.
Kerogen own 21.87% of Hurricane which should act as a buffer against a hostile takeover … unless they want to takeover HUR themselves.
But I don't think they can afford it especially as Foresight22 said "Kerogen has Cuadrilla expenditures with no exit possible there,"

I don't expect too many of us have to worry about capital gains at the current SP but what about capital loss.
But isn't there a rule about having to wait so many days before re-purchase of the same shares in order to claim a loss?
