I have to agree with Rangers1.
The Boss of Shell said "conventional Oil and Gas business" ( not "conventional business" ) as opposed to non-conventional Oil and Gas (i.e. Fracking).

I think that it's commendable that Oil&Gas Govt. Dept. control the amount of gas that can be flared in the UK even though it might slow down HUR a little until they find a way of selling the excess gas.
There are no such restrictions in the US and they have now set a new record in the Permian Basin by flaring 661 million cubic feet per day.
What a waste !

Mr. Speaker, over the last year discussions with Premier Oil on developing the Sea Lion oilfield have progressed well. In November, the Executive Council received a comprehensive Environmental Impact Statement and the recommendations contained in the covering report were approved.

Our licensees have spent much of the past year fine-tuning the project, with contractor selections enabling the final stages of detailed design and cost estimation to be drawn together. This will enable an informed final project sanction decision to be taken, along with the final regulatory approvals.

Commercial and regulatory stakeholders now have a detailed view of how oil development in the Falkland Islands would be delivered and supported. This will enable the licensees to make their final investment decisions and an update on progress is expected early in 2020.

In the meantime we have continued to work diligently with the UK Government, non-governmental organisations, the industry and other stakeholders to ensure that we have robust regulations in place for important areas including the environment, safety and local content.

We have been clear in all of our work that we will apply best practice to protecting our seas from any potential impact as a result of hydrocarbons exploration and extraction. While good progress has been made, the project is a significant undertaking and there is still much to do.

On 09/05/2019 Ca increased their number of shares by about 12,700,000 to 109,642,789.

If they were heavy sellers in the last couple of days, they will have to produce an RNS because it will drop them below the 5% margin.

It's a bit unfortunate that on the very day that HUR announces that it is now officially an oil producer, Brent has suddenly dropped to just above $60 as a result of the large inventory build of WTI crude.

A more appropriate name would be TheDrivel.

People seem to have various opinions as to the cause of today's raise in SP … so here is mine.

The initial jump was probably caused by the Broker upgrade which then triggered other investors to pile in, thinking that this was Foil that everyone has been waiting for.
But when there was no RNS or other news, the SP just drifted back down.

Which shows to me that Foil is not already priced into the SP and when it is finally announced, there will be an even bigger jump than we saw today..

Thanks for your replies but I'm still concerned as to what will happen with any gas produced by SeaLion.
Hurricane HUR will (hopefully) be producing 20kpd Oil by the end of the year but are limited to how much more that they can produce because of limits set by Govt. Oil & Gas Dept. with regards to flaring.
They intend to solve the problem by connecting to a nearby gas pipe-line.
I would imagine that the FIG would also have strict rules about gas flaring.

RKH & PMO don't have such an option and even if they did, where would the pipe-line go to …. Argentina ?
