The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
Ooof.
Why does a tin-pot, AIM company have 52% of the UK's shipyard footprint? If proper, FTSE-listed, players wanted the yards, surely they would have them? They were defunct for a reason, therefore I ascribe a value to the yards of zero. As does the market. If there is no interest at any price, what is the value? All I see are massive cash black holes.
JW wants to focus on engineering that can't be carried out elsewhere. As I have asked repeatedly, what secret sauce does he bring to the party that the likes of BAB or BAE don't possess, because, sure as sheet, there is nothing intrinsically special about the white elephants has he lumbered us with?
Donald kindly refrained from asking the RNLI question, amongst others, too.
Well, the market clearly loved that video...
oldtramp,
I didn't express any concern for the apprentices!
Lottie123,
Gosh, you are an altruistic investor!
How are those apprentices going to feel when they find themselves on the dole, watching the directors swan off into the sunset with millions in their pockets?
spud,
I believe that droderick has been barred from this board by JW, after his (presumably drunken) rant at me.
Tapp,
Silly me, I hadn't factored that in - £3.3m!
Never mind guessing the share price at the end of the year, let's take a punt on the turkey twins' remuneration this year.
I'll start - £2.8m combined.
nightflight,
Who do you think would want to buy those defunct yards?
100 NDAs? 100? Over-egging the pudding, somewhat.
If you are going to pick a number out of thin air, at least make it believable.
SI,
Exactly what I was about to post.
As far as I can recall, droderick hasn't posted on this board since an uncharacteristic and vitriolic attack on me, which I ascribed at the time to having been written from the bottom of a bottle.
Lottie123,
In spite of your pretensions to be a market guru, you are either in insider, or a fool.
Interesting that none of the happy-clappers has seen fit to counter my JW highlights reel..
oldtramp,
Sorry, I don't understand your last post. Can you clarify?
Let's have a JW highlights reel:
Milestones for delivery of Islandmagee - FAIL;
Arrogant tweet about being called in to resolve Brexit - TW@;
MoU with Navantia - YOU WHAT?;
Spat with Gresham House - UH-OH;
LoI with Triumph - UTTER BS;
"Corrupted" investor presentation, including promise of no further raise in 12 months - CORRUPT IT WAS INDEED;
Missed payment in shares for Appledore, with no formal explanation - UH-OH SOME MORE;
Framework Agreement with the RNLI - BARE-FACED LIE;
What next? Failed payment for Appledore? Attempted raise (at 10p or lower) to pay off the leg-breakers in February, which will fail, leaving Belfast to fall into the hands of said leg-breakers? Million-pound bonuses for trebles all round? Islandmagee cunningly spun off into another company, in which the current directors happen to be the major share-holders? Much embarrassment for politicians?
Merry bloody Christmas.
roly12,
Once the turkeys have voted for their Christmas bonuses, the cash will run dry faster than that. Cue another raise in February to pay off the leg-breakers (which, I believe, will fail).
What on earth is happening at Islandmagee? Anything?
I would like to know how they intend to pay off the leg- breakers in February.
Appalling grammar, even worse music.
I smell no profit here.
oldtramp,
I see three blokes holding a rope, with a ship in the background.
