I write this as a consistent advocate of the Islandmagee storage facility.
Given that the SNIP is, currently at least, one-directional, meaning that gas cannot flow from NI to GB, would the logistics of shipping gas to Islandmagee, where it would be stored, then pumping it back onto another ship to be transported to a suitable mainland GB port when sold, stack up? The real excitement around this project was generated by the potential reversing of the SNIP, yet all seems to have gone quiet on that front over the last few years.
Of course, the gas could remain on the island of Ireland, but that doesn't alleviate mainland GB's chronic lack of storage capacity.
