Nobby31,
An excellent post that sums up our current position.
I have received dog's abuse on this forum, ever since I called out JW when the "purchase" of Belfast was announced in December 2019 (purchase in inverted commas because the company never had any money). I shall take credit for the leg-breakers terminology too (no pun intended re credit).
For 27 months, the happy-clappers have been posting their dreams of building ships. Who in their right mind would award a ship-building contract to an insolvent company run by self-enriching turkeys, with no track record and no working capital? The new debt facility is peanuts and will be swallowed in short order, gifting the only asset, IM, to the lenders. JW and chums can probably screw another million or two before the collapse.
Pillocks are we all.
The only true potential asset that HARL has (IM) is now hocked. Strange how the new lenders didn't take a piece of those world-class yards...New debt to pay off old debt, salaries and bonuses and to keep the lights on - that initial $35m tranche won't last long. Fine for the lender, they get the gas storage, good for JW and chums, they get paid - terminal for us sap shareholders.
But wait - we're going to build fishing boats, that'll fix it!
Piffle-waffle. This bankrupt company, led by a fraud, is going to build ships - great big ships.
Sorry, I have been watching "Pretty Woman".
What's an "edition"?
Russelw65,
Interesting first post...
Why has this information not been posted by the company, even on social media?
Consuela,
At this point, I should like to distance myself from the connection that some on here have made between us.
I have consistently stated that public money, up front and lots of it, is the only chance of success at HARL. Let's see what eventuates and let's hope that the directors' inclination to pay themselves in advance, for successes that may. or may not, eventuate, don't exclude the company when it comes to the government's (albeit printed) largesse.
Also, has droderick re-emerged as an alter-ego on the sly?
Loosegoose,
Thank you for a welcome dose of reality. The only value here is in gas storage; sadly, the company has been diluted to oblivion, so even this fruitful project will not see long-term holders made whole.
oldtramp,
Here's hoping.
oldtramp,
Not sure I can lay claim to that quote but, at the very least, I would have ensured that I had hyphenated "happy-clappy".
Also, I would know how to spell "clique"...
Consuela,
You have nailed it.
People on here, dreaming of JW building ships in those long-dead yards, you couldn't make it up...
I have suffered dog's abuse on here ever since the announcement of the "bargain purchase" of an already-bankrupt yard. The only bargain here has been the ease with which JW has enriched himself, at the expense of the shareholders.
Get woke, go broke.
Si_Derman,
Or the job ads and roadshows are fake, to make the company look busy.
I know which I am going with.
Lottie123,
Do tell us more.
Bubble2021,
It depends who was liable for the bill, given the politics of the last week.
Or it has been kicked out.
Laughable that some on here bracket HARL with proper companies like BAB and BAE.
Have the leg-breakers been made whole today?
oldtramp,
Fair play, I am a bit slow today!
oldtramp,
They can't afford to keep on the lights at these energy prices!
Lottie123,
Did they train you to buy with your heart and not your head at the investment bank?
