I don’t really understand why anyone would consider this voluntary test to be an issue. The testing industry has developed significantly over the the pandemic (perhaps one day we as shareholders will finally benefit) and the availability of a LFT for flu I view as an entirely positive development. Going about or into offices with infectious viruses is no longer considered acceptable and we now have an industry that has been developed to deal with it. Flu testing will not be the end of the road and I can easily see a time when we can test at home for loads of different things - why not?

I omitted the most relevant point, my belief that the drop in ABDX is because they are effectively in a state of limbo with HMG until over the judicial review not even scheduled until December - hence the opportunistic drop.

ABDX’s situation with DHSC certainty seems appalling - at first glance I thought their drop was because they, unlike ODX, might need a fund raise (although it is difficult to speculate as to the price) but they have reduced staff (which unlike ODX seem to have been permanent not contracted) and still have nearly £5m in the bank - ODX have clearly stated several times that no fund raise will be needed here. Seems oversold to me but does explain the drop here. I remain frustrated but still believe that HMG will finally come though for ODX at least and that we will sell all that we can produce the only question that remains is WHEN!

I just hope this turns out to be as positive as it seems - it should be but so many false starts leaves even the positive feeling restless. I think I will cross my figures.

Thanks Templar this is very significant. I scan through the threads most days but had not seen mention of this before. I certainly hope it is the Visitec test but whatever it is ODX will be producing it. Can we finally say, let’s see what next week brings?

Although I do not doubt the report is is simply impossible with current technology and facilities to PCR test, requiring laboratory time, in any significant numbers.

Surely the reality here is that if 600,000 people have been pinged and assuming this became the average, if each were required to test everyday that would be 4.2 million tests required per week - HMG suggested they wanted to gear up to 2 million tests per week - more than enough for us to sell all we can produce. If not now, when?

So we now have another strain, the Colombian to add to our list.

I agree Newboy, if anything the longer this goes on the more convinced I become that LFT’s, not just for COVID but for many other things, certainly including Flu will become ubiquitous - this can only help when the worm finally turns as a P/E of 5 or 10 becomes more likely.

All over the media with strong consensus that we should all be allowed to test and release. Many of us have turned off the tracking element of the NHS app and if HMG want the test and trace to be effective and millions of people not left sitting at home to take advantage of the good weather they need to identify a sovereign test for home use and get all 3 UK specified companies producing as many as they possibly can. If not now when?

However the perpetual critics may want to spin this, it must be good news.

Well we all surely noted the complete lack of interest from the media when the FDA criticism of Innova first went public. My view then and now is that HMG put pressure on editors claiming that it was in the public interest that we, the general public, were not disillusioned about he Innova test as it served a purpose and was/is the only one available in sufficient numbers to help prevent the spread of COVID. We may well disagree that was the case then or now but it was the only realistic argument HMG could make. My glass remains half full so I will choose to believe that once a UK test has been chosen, hopefully Visitec and it has received approval for home use and which can actually do the job HMG will move forward with a big press release about wha a go job they have done supporting the test and facilitating it being brought to market, only then can we get those order confirmed and get the machines rolling out tests at full speed.

We really need to see some institutional investors buying/increasing their holdings.

I have probably lost track of the rules but isn’t it the case that as Germany have approved then EU approval is automatic?

The article refers to Mologic and its contacts so that might include ODX. Interesting to note that the picture identifies the texting liquid within the vial you use to insert your sample removing one stage of the process which had apparently caused concern.

Thanks Regulator, I realise they have a contract but from what we have seen there are many loopholes if they did not want to proceed I am sure they could find a way out. That said I fully acknowledge that they are not the type of company that would leave anyone in trouble and they would only avoid the contract if HMG were happy they had other resources. I had not seen the comment that they intend to use the UK facilities to supply UK and Europe but that would obviously put a different complexion on things.
