As for the data being gathered as the 'big experiment' progresses, great I do hope it all works out. The doctors can withdrawn their formal public letter of oppostition to the policy along with the manufacturer. My concern from the start has been that when the vacc passport becomes a reality, the UK will be the only ones not able to get them becasue our vacc program didn't follow the instructions and the rest of the world decides to play safe for a year or two and we are stuck on tera firma for too long.

I don't know why but I passed it by for some local noodle street food, and what a regret. Not available anymore, I beleive it was test marketed in the UK early 2020 but I missed it. I may have to engage in a planet wide hunt to try one. If I inadvertantly travel all over SEA, India and far afield in search of the holy food, ahhh so be it.

I don't believe in expensive hotels, I tink thy are a con, so a clean acesible place wil suffice. Noting HK is very expensive, The Best Western (Mid Levels?) did me well last time. I have only been there a few days and had expected to return last year to explore much more. I might be able to pull off a residential stay as a former collegue is from there. I loved the KFC with lemon drizle and arm egg cutard tart for desert, wonderful. Oh yes, always try out the local cuisne lol.

You see foxbat, this is useful in extracting whether your input is to be considered or not. The pandemic is the sole reason why the shares crashed and recovery out of the pandemic back to 'normal' is critically based on issues such as vaccinations. In fact, it is rather an important variable. Therefore understanding the effect of any policy changes, mutations, responses are a very important variable and trying to estimate how iis will respond is critical in deciding whether to buy or sell. iis are the ones who make the biggest impact on these types of shares. Second guessing them is the game. That is why the passport issue is also a critical element - whether the UK vacc would be valid or, now, will we have any involvement or stand on the sidelines. So I would argue, discussion on the subject is pertinent.
As for the fact YOU introduced that the UK is not the only one delaying the second dose, that contridictes public comments made during January from a variety of sources where the phrase that the UK was uniquely engaging in a 'big experiment' comes from. It is not incumbent on ME to verify your statement. As is the norm for this kind of public forum, post a link the source of the data YOU introduced. Otherwise, pis should take your 'fact' as unproven. I do not know of any other country that is following the UK dose delay regime, but if you do have any undate on that, do please share the source of the information with the board. It might indicate that the UK scheme has been elevated to acceptable and is now to be adopted world wide with immediate effect advancing vaccination a double the pace worldwide. Or NOT as the case maybe. THAT is why it is somewhat important that YOU verify the information YOU post. And I havn't mentioned any degrees, I listed my professional registrations in order to qualify why I underline the point of following the defined rules as important. What other coutries are delaying the second doses? As for conspiracy theories, not sure which part of the governments explicit dose stratergy is a conspiracy. Those managing the scheme will no doubt submit the results in 6 months time for peer review. Not my job.I'm not sure what I am suppossed to submit to, the manufacturer said 3-4 weeks for second dose, UK government said change that to 12 weeks. I do hope it works out but trying to pretend the change has not happend and that succesful vacc = opening up travel = share price increase, is somehow disconnected form any debate on proven or not efficacy misses the point entirely. My judgment is the risks have now escalated and so I'm out for the moment. When I here more positve words towards vacc passports and/or international thumbs up the UK late dose regime is as good as any other dose regime, I will be back in.

Hate to say it but I have taken profits this morning too. I don't like the outright rejection of vacc passports. This is all on a knife edge now. I also sold all my EasyJet. Will monitor news very closley to listen out for policy chnage on passports.

Actually I filtered whatanidiot. The whole point is the vacc policy you say is acceptable, may well be. But it was not introduced theough the proper proceedure. It is not replicated anywhere else. And to say it allows 2 people with mild covid against one fully protected and one not, where is the evidence to back that up - the formal peer reviewed.

It might be a worthwhile campaign and the duping of the regulatory commitee to introduce the unique UK policy might work out, but not following the official regime might very well be used against us irrespective of how well the results are. Other countries do not want people visiting with mild sysmptoms spreading the bug. There is a difference between controlling the epidemic to releive pressure on our own health service, and to control the pandemic to return to full free travel and association again. The issue here is whether full free travel can be returned for Brits following the unverified dose regime introduced.

Anyway, it is clear many of you want to pretend everything is ok and above board with no questions to ask. I hope it works out, time will tell, but I also know the nature of our competitors and any advantage that can be given will be used at our cost.

Daveross1, if that was so obvious, why are we the only nation on the planet doing this. That too makes me a little concerned. The drug manufactures hyave certianly NOT supported the British idea, they have been vocal and on the record saying they did not support it along with the WHO. If 'the great experiment' works, then great.

Why was this regime not put forward before and discussed with the manufaturer or the regulators? I do hope it works, but if it doesn't we could be the last ones allowed to travel sometime at Christmas.

Forevernever, The Pfizer didn't do such a study so there is no data to qualify the change in dose regime, and as far as I am aware the results of delayed Astra doses was on a limited sample size, not submitted for review and is not part of the formal submission for the license to use the vaccine. It doesn't matter what variations are found to do what, the only way the vacc are to be used is according to the instructions as vetted by the regulators. If there are further submissions that change the dose regime and it is approved then great. But the vaccine as administered so far opens the question as to the validity which could be used to deny vacc passports. I understand the wishful thinking and the desire to cherry pick a media published detail here or there but there is a system and trying to get around it could very well cause us very serious issues. I have a stong suspicion that the very odd announcment that the UK will not be a part of vacc passport schemes may be related. It was a delierate act to ignore the dose regime, I just hope we somehow get away with it. I am a chartered scientist and chartered engineer - I have some insight on regulation regime and the need to follow it by the letter.

see what light? The instructions on the packet say 3 weeks for dose 2 not 12. There is no testing to show delaying to 12 weeks is acceptable. Not moaning, not anti vacc, these are the real world facts. If the intention was to immunise a large number of people partially rather tha half the number fully, then that is what the efficay trials should have tested and the regulatory authorities licensed too. We are the only ones who have done this, nobody else will touch it with a barge pole. If the experiment comes off and in 24 weeks after the first dose, 12 weeks after the second, it is shown the vacc is effective then fine. But it is one hell of a risk that has been undertaken and the government suddenly putting itself against covid passport schemes is a very worrying sign. Given the obvious benefit of such a scheme, there must be a reason why?

uptheladder, the issue maybe the instructions from the manufacture have been ignored. Irrespective of the second dose, Brits may be deemed unvacced because the second dose wasn't administrated within the stipulated time as defined by the manufacturer and the certification authority. SOme may use that as a blocking move for their own reasons, for others ti might turn out the vaccination was worthless. Should have followed the instructions on the packet from the off. Every time I see the headlines telling us how many of the population have been vaccinted, it is absolutley wrong, the vasy majority of them have not been vacced, they have had the first part and the second will be so late it might invalidate the vacc. Maybe retrospective licensing can be given for the UK dose method, how knows. I don't want there to be issues with it, but it was a very stupid thing to ignore the instructions and the stupidity seems to be gathering pace.

I must admit, the government I would have least expected such a numptie policy is this one. This idea that becasue some can't have, all can't have, is loony left politics from the 80s. I just can not believe what I am hearing. A way out through the international lockdown is viable but a block is being put on it? Under what possible reasoning? This numptie policy will now be put under immense pressure and ultimatley a U turn will be required and instead of leading the agenda internationally we will be belatedly implementing and trying to catch up, if of course the UK 1/2 dose system is recognised as a vaccine dose.

Maybe that is it, the government has been informed the 1/2 dose policy excludes UK citizens for beign able to have a vaccine passport, as I feared the rest of the world will open up and travel freely but the UK will remain locked out. THIS is a **** up of the first order now.
