So all of you beleive that the iis, pension funds, financial advisors, wealth managers and lth all beleive that holding the stock at the current value means they are all expecting a frop on results? You don't think they have made forward calculations, determined a value for the company and hence a share price? Is it not more likley that the iis et all are not adding since they have determined that this is the level for an appropriate value for the share as the results are released? Also, they are not selling since the forward progress is more positive than 3 weeks ago.
There will be some difficult moments to be sure, but I would say they will not be financial problems, they will be political. Still, profit is profit and as long as you sell higher than you bought then jumping back in is always there. NOT price watching is my stratergy, wasted a whole morning hovering over Easy J and for a few hundred pounds profit. Not worth wasting time for me.

It can drop to 1p and back for all I care. I won't be attempting to 'cut losses' as I have a strict stay wit it stratergy, whether I wait one month or six. As long as it is north of 320 by autum so can cash in and get a flight to anywere (HK will be nice) I don't care.

Ahhhhh you see Retec, I have factored this in the other way round, the expected financials are already priced in (I know some don't like the expression). Road map on 22nd I think will spell out a very clear vacc passport position and most importantly what the return trip back to UK arrangments will be. Then results come out better than forecast with plenty of cash reserves, then the budget underlining any help for airlines if opeing up of travel is delayed. I don't think the envirnomental lobby have any leaverage on stopping or cappin the return to free market flying now and I think the lockdown lobby is so much on the backfoot that they will have little influence on policy which is orientated towards removing lockdown. I expect 200 after the budget.

sunsurfer, the ups and downs of a few pennies over the last few weeks are of little consequence, it's like saying why didn't you invest at 100 last September/October - you could have had a garage then to put the car in in Mayfair. I certainly would never follow the advice or direction of a total stranger on a bb on whether to invest or not. Calling some numbers correct once or twice does not make anybody a guru. They decide to be very aggressive and objectionable and come across as a bit of a boiler room crew and I just don't have time for such idiots. They have nothing of worth to say. I didn't 'miss out' of any recent rise since I was risk averse and my differential is to gain 100% return within 6 months. The entry point is only relevan to me below my magic 168, indeed I am some 6p ahead of my own game and so all ready up on my spreadsheet. Irrespective of what happens now, I have commited the lock in and I expect everyday the sp goes up I will be told how much I could have made and how much I 'lost'. I can only drive one car at a time! Which reminds me, it is the KFC special offer day. At least EZJ paid for my the new bathroom taps and shower mixer bar today, lol.

My target is around 320+ just for the record, but that might be some weeks away.

Well, I decided to commit, whether I am out in a month or six months, it is all fingers crossed for the road map and then the budget. I think the politics of the situation is going in favour of increased travel and so my confidence is up. No spook selling to be had. When I can get out of Dechra which I expect to be a small profit as their results are due then I will keep some dry powder for 'topping up'. GLA

This is a discussion place where all the pros, cons, positives and negatives are aired which people can follow or ignore at their lesiure. It is not a private ramping zone where only deluded get rich quick gamblers kid each other the sp is going to forecver go up lest some pesky poster says x and spoils it all. Whether I have a position at the moment is irrelevant. And what boat have I missed? I was right to be cautions of what was actually behind the rise, and I may well yet be correct about a large back peddle tomorrow - or not, but it is none of your concern. I've been pretty darn close to reading the music around this share given the political situation. Your 5p or 10p rises are of little consequence to what is to come. Boris giving caution on what to expect by way of ending lockdown. Will be doing a deep scan of media tomorrow, esp in afternoon. Should start to get sentiment. Key item I am looking for is with travel, what are the return leg arrangments. Also, any hint, however small, about intentions to support airlines. Indication of support means that a return to flying is planned much later in the day.

And now we will wait to see if the tick up today was due to a large trade. My powder remains dry for a couple more days. The anti-lockdown brigade did a good pr job over the weekend and leadin into today. Sentiment good across the market, and the weather has warmed up. And this is my caveat - right across the market the feeling is up. Nothing to do specifically with IAG. IAG perhaps has the furthest to climb to be back in some sort of previous range. But I am waiting on the sidelines for a couple of indicators from which direction the politics is going. No point locking in now if the big opeing up and hence large sp rise will be months away. Good volatile times for the day traders and a couple are running around the playground waving their arms, "look at me, look at me, I'm bigger and better than all of you". I just hope they remembered to actual cash in and convert the paper money to real money!

This is all starting to sound a bit like a boiler room brigade. I don't go around digging up bad news to deramp. When I first decided to joing the discussion here it was on the basis that it was blindingly obvious that this and a couple of other airline shares would go ballistic and some very easy and serious money could be made. The positive vibes from gov at the start of the year fooled me into an early buy which I got locked into for longer than wanted, but got out again with a reasonable profit. Now I am simply being a bit more cautious and better prepared for a longer lock in.
I was selling the biggest ramp of them all over vacc passports befroe most of you had even heard of them so accusing me of trying to knock this down is a bit of joke. I have simply laid out the factors that may well influence the sp which are often overlooked. Furthermore, the episode with the EU is a reminder that prices may well go down as up and past performance is def not any indication of future performance. The history of the sp whilst I am out is irrelevant. I have no sking in that game so it has zero impact. If the landscape doesn't look right for my investment now I'll say so and qualify what I say- unlike all the rampers. I understand the desperate shaky need to ramp the hell out of it to try and score a few pennies here and there, and the hysterical response to someone who doesn't 'join in' the ramp fest. Such responses indicate a great deal of uncertainty and fear. Are some of you sure this is the best way for you make money?

For every share buyer around the planet in all markets, if you bought a stock at a lower price than me you have my admiration. If we both hold the same stock and you sell at a higher price than me, then wow, have a gold medal and I'll shed a ****ing tear of joy for you. It is only at 156, laugh at me when it is double that but not invested perhaps. I am looking at other shares at the moment with bigger potential than IAG. And I will never 'regret' not investing, there are plenty of other opportunities out there. If you want to run around the playground thinking you have scored some sort of major victory over everybody else because you finally made a tenner above fees, you go ahead, I'll sit of the bench eating my cheese sandwich and laugh at you with the rest of the school.
