When you returned from your trips into self-isolation, did you get one or two mysterious 'cold calls' selling double glazing or grazing fields for horses? I got 'the call' and what they do is triangulate your mobile phone to check your location. Once they have verified the number is real and is registered at your address by various records, they continue to check your location with the GSM signal. It used to require special permission to do this - I understand the emergancy lockdown powers allowed for greater use of the system. As your phone was consistent at the loctaion when checked, the resources to enforce self-isolation are deployed elsewhere.
I am sure that is one of the key systems in use to confirm compliance but it is not a fully published detail.

One of the Brexit issues that will rumble away in the background for many years is shown in the vaccine muck up by the EU. There is a deep seated vein of politicians, broadcasters and civil servants who will continue shadowing EU policy as closley as possible to replicate the EU within the UK. Basically the EU's assumed ownership of UK, one of the satellite states of a soviet Europe, has not been changed in any way. So when the EU manufacturing of the vaccine is delayed three months by the EU itself, the EU simply assumes that UK manufactured vaccines are the property of the EU. That mindset that everything UK is EU is as strong now as it was over the whole membership. They are explicit in demanding UK manufactured vaccines should be diverted for use in the EU and also looking to fiddle the laws to control the supply of all vaccines in the EU for the exclusive benfit of the EU. On that point, the UK will convienetly suddenly stop being a member of the EU.
This maybe important for IAG because, in the blink of an eye, BA will be a UK issue not to be protected by EU, or IAG is an EU company and therefore BA is a possesion of the soviet EU. If the EU takes the atitude that BA is defacto an EU possesion then allocation of routes may be interfered with by the soviet EU (oh yes, that is coming over the horizon, the EU starting to control routes to favour EU based airlines). The Brexit political issues have really only just started. Consider the rhetoric coming out of the EU at the moment. This is what has been happeing behind the scenes for decades. Occassionaly it surfaces and the mask slips. IAG would be wise to make BA isolated from EU interferance.

I understand that UAE has over taken UK in vaccinations, this is a bit of an odd one. Given that the target to stop travel are the sort who will be using private jets and very difficult to police form small airports, this will have nil impact on preventing the spread of the virus.
Lockdown is one thing to stop a virus spreading, retaliation against a travel group in order pacifiy headline writers to gain favourable media coverage is the wrong way to go. Restrictions on freedom of movement must only be applied in order to control a health emergency, not for publicity stunts!

Shorting should be practised by proxy - in spread betting forums. I object to the virtual shares required for shorting as they are not available for free trading. Shorting was a tool created to generate a trading stream of revenue but the consequences of the impact are such that it should be regulated out. Hrdging should be done with shares taken form the open market only.

Not letting it go.... the lie is just too big on this occassion and this individual needs to be called out on it. Too easy for people to take it as a fact and pass it on as fact. Must be stopped.

BUT......
you can not apply 'normal' PI thinking to this. The group are protecting their interest in having a physical shop to go to. That means each investor may be throwing 50 bucks into the pot knowing they will never see it again. It is very similar to the free software you see around written by communities of programmers giving hundreds of their unpaid hours to produce software that often is better than the expensive paid for corporation software. Peer to peer was another mass movement against the corporate machine. That was ultimatley dismantled because of the rights to the artists was hurt rather than the corporation profits. As long as people are prepared to defend their territory for no gainm, indeed for a loss, then such action will takeplace. I don't think this is a crusade against the shorting community, more an action against a specific target. Some are jumping on a band wagon derived from the inital action which will peter out. But I would expect to see flashes of similar action here and there. Good luck to them. If they wouldn't mind dropping me a line on their next target.....

You are so sure of your claim that Pfizer have mislead the market with a suprious effacy claim of their vaccine. Let's see it defended in court then.

If you don't have a solicitor, you can ask the CAB for assitance responding to Pfizer's writ.

No market abuse, since the concept is a share holding democracy, if a group wants to publically call for a share buy or sell then they are liberty to do so since it is free will whether to get involved or not. It is like horse tips. It could also be declared as as share club. Critically it has to be done in the open where anybody can see it so that there is no hidden information. If they develop communication codes that only those in the know are privy too, then it will be a market abuse.

COuple of weeks ago but gives insight behind the scenes of potential fast scale up regimes that can be undertaken to rapidly speed up vaccination schedule. To date schedule was based on exisiting capacity, surge capacity can be found in other pharm and lab (food drink) facilities.

NOw the extent of the travel restrictions are known, road maps for coming out of lockdown begining to be constructed, real world feedback on vaccination and virus spread rates, forward holdiay diaries like long weekend in April and so on, bottom of the sp has been reached and all those pension funds and iis piling in with cash reserves to at least claw back some sp profit to offset div lost. It was always on the cards and well predicted by everybody except the idiots that opened spreadbets and are currently being burnt alive.
