Finally made it past 9 in the morning and it hasn't gone red. Dare to HOPE!

The £13 flight has gone! Not surprised it got booked, but it shows that to sell seats, the prices have to be dropped significantly. Ryanair will be hoping to sell the passenger a lot of coffee and box chips to at least cover the cost of the fuel!!

The other very useful aspect of skyscanner, when you look ahead if there hasn't been a recent booking or the airlines have not released prices to skyscanner then a price is not available. Look at flights to Ponta Delgada in January. Swaths of flights [return] with no price. That indicates very low forward booking.

There is no hiding it. The booking numbers are very low. People are put off. When you consider that for Azores you do not need a fit to fly test, just your NHS vac certificate, so the only test needed is the 2 day after return, and flight tickets for just a few pounds, it shows what fear of booking is out there. It does look like recovery will be much longer than hoped for as people need to be given assurance when they book, they will travel and will not be subject to last minute changes.

For IAG, it means the probability that revenue is going to cover debt payments is very much reduced. The probability that debt will be swapped for equity is very much increased. So IAG is a red flag again. I think we will see with Easy J results in December Q3/4 has not been as buoyant as predicted and this will be read across to all other airlines and IAG will have no option but to dilute further. I think it should have done so from the outset instead of extending credit lines.

Now they are the cheapest combinations over the month, but a lot of the prices will not be too far away. The point is, air fares are being heavily discounted to try and get people flying. People hate the testing. It is a hassle organising, friends will be bringing back horror stories of results not being returned requiring expensive airport testing, drive ins closed, 2 day tests not arriving in the post and the rest. It is a huge turn off. I've been scratching my head trying to figure out Germany requirements for trips to the Christmas fairs this year. Inconsistent advice all over the place.

It is the deterrent effect. The Portugal sabotage and other last minute changes in travel advice have all been aimed at persuading people to not risk getting suddenly caught out. Anything deviating from a 'norm' will put people off. It is already a pain with the testing and trying to decipher each countries travel test regulations. Those planes are not overloaded with passengers to the states, have you seen the price reductions on the budget carriers? Until testing is properly removed the sector is going nowhere. And all the ramping about magic Pfizer pills will not fix that. They are not the game changer promised for restoring this sector stock.

Filtered the numptie a while ago now. The ramp fest misled a lot of poor souls into buying far too early despite red flag warnings [that are returning already]. The debt is supposed to be paid off with revenue according to the ramp fest, so debt consolidation through dilution should be avoided. With testing for travel still in place and staying for many months to come and governments still trying to control the spread of the virus, that revenue stream is not going to be what it should be. I'm red flagging the share again and may not risk day trading this side of the new year now. It is looking a bit bad.

Not so Joe, they are putting a budget airline together right now. BA has had a pricing strategy to keep a foot in the economy market. If Ryanair is the Lidl of the air, Easy J the Sainbury's then BA is the Waitrose. Supermarket selling but towards the more snobbish end of the economy market.

Artificial volatility? Making the sector bob up and down in short order to create the effect of volatility to tempt pis in to a bit of speculation? I normally don't go in for that kind of mm crap, but...... The probabilities of uniform sector movement like that is looking just a little bit incredible!

Would somebody like to drop a note to the Qataris, the horse has already bolted, it is useless trying to close the stable door now. Odd that the quarantine for fully vaxed is two nights in a hotel. Now, in Qatar, would that actually be such a bad thing????

I can understand people thinking the pill is some magic solution, I think it is a bit of a red herring to be honest. The Pfizer one has to be taken in combination with other drugs for a start so an open license, which isn't free, sounds more like a sales door to sell the other drug. If people are not going to get vaccinated, do you think they will take a new pill? We have to bite the bullet. If your not vaxed then you have to hope WHEN you get covid it isn't a bad one for you. The rest of us need to get on with our lives again.
