The manipulation on no news days looked strong as the whole sector moved as one. The big drop today is again broadly similar which, given the differences between the businesses, makes me raise an eyebrow. Nevertheless there is clearly a news event impacting the sector in general so falling prices may be triggered by the news, but all in the same zone at the same time?

Looking around the news boards, variant AY.4.2 is being talked about a lot around the world. This might be the trigger since it is possible to spread more easily. Market must be expecting countries to re-enter border lockdowns. It is now we need the WHO to speak up and direct countries to stop trying to control the virus spread and concentrate on vaccinations and learn to live with covid.

Yes, nothing touched with my Easy J holding, but that has nothing to do with the current sp whether up or down. It is there ready for takeover rumour and announcements. I can sit on that money in Easy J until next summer. My immediate side bets are in SSP and TUI which are being dragged down with the rest of the sector. Thankfully I don't need to cash anything in, but it is frustrating that there is still a negative impact on the market. I perhaps didn't take into account fully the continuing impact testing has on dissuading people to travel. That will affect pax numbers across the board and makes the sp vulnerable to easily lose value. The drop is very serious at the moment for the sector.

Apart from Jet2, everything is crashing across the sector again. IAG below 150. Really goes to show just how wrong the ramp fest was and the people involved in it were get rich quick amateurs. Lockdowns spooking the market? It must be the case now that the revenue stream to bail IAG credit repayments is increasingly weak and there is inevitable dilution to follow. I've already red flagged it, and I'm returning to a 90% probability of some sort of dilution for IAG.

Bow Larks!! The EU as made a territorial antitrade law that EU country businesses MUST be owned by a majority of EU shareholders. Ryanair has a legal obligation to try and shift shareholding to the EU exchanges. The soviet EU inward looking policy will only damage EU businesses as fund raising is choked off. This is why I'm keeping a beady eye on A potentially being spun off.

Just checking the sp. About breakeven but jet2, ooohhhhh. Nearly 10% hit on results. So, if IAG reports similar issues in Feb, ermmmm..... . I'm locked in with Easy J and not looking forward to Dec results there. About the only thing for IAG holders today to be grateful for is that the sector hasn't been traded as a block as is normal where all airlines would be dragged down very significantly on a par with Jet2. There is a glimmer of hope in that - it looks like sp can decouple from the sector, albeit downwards at the moment. So you might just see IAG or Easy J decouple and go 10% up. At least my SSP has finally done a U turn against the rest. I'll take a win not matter how small at the moment.

Never had an issue with Ryanair. Never, and mean I NEVER been late with Ryanair. In fact they have a habit of turning up so early the ground crew isn't ready for them. In the early days Ryanair got a lot of stick from the competition mainly to stop them because they soaked up so much business. Too many airlines tried to keep the mystical fantasy of something jetset about flying. That went back in the late 80s frankley. They are merely flying buses and people stopped packing the kitchen sink and started taking the bear essentials to avoid the carousel wait. ALL airlines have ended up following the easy flow system and if you do want to take the kitchen sink, will charge you separately rather than share the cost out amongst all the other passengers. And one think about the budget budgets, the seats can't be reclined and I for one love that. I wish all other airlines would copy that.

Never had any real problems with budgets. They operate as promised as with the business flying, as promised. However, with the business flying, if I say on boarding I'm looking for a no fuss flight, I do not expect to be pestered every five ****ing minutes, 'is everything all right sir,' 'would you a complimentary glass of Champagne sir', 'is your meal alright sir', 'can I get you anything sir'. Next time time I'm tempted to glare back on the fifth interruption (before we've even taken off) and squeal back in a high pitched broken voice, "actually I am transgender and today a female and I am deeply offended you called me a sir". lol. A least on the budgets you only get the hassle when they are trying to sell you something, scratch card anyone??

I am looking for a buy price, not looking for a sell price. As so many have said, 'he ain't holding'. Why would I be advocating sell prices with nothing to sell? People looking to cash in on a potential spike or smash and grab, amazingly are looking at when to buy whilst seeing a differential for the quick sell. None of any of my analysis says anything at all about selling. In fact, when, if, I do do a day/short term trade, it will almost certainly NOT be at a low bottom price anyway as I want to see the momentum on an upward trend so I can aim for at least a 5% short-term.

Jet2 getting hammered over its results. Sorry, Jet2 is setting up nicely for a 50% sp increase by the end of the week. mm tree shake to let their mates in, durrr obvious.

What do you mean 'ten deramping posts'? If anybody posts anything that isn't gushing rainbow jam tomorrow predictions then it has to be deramping? Debate and consideration of factors is back to being ruled out is it? The sp isn't even 1% up and the move to totally close down all discussion other than the hysterical ramping is well underway. It was actually a tongue in cheek post, not an instruction.

And I remain here because I keep an eye on the share as a possible smash and grab. I got a mount of KFC out of it a couple of weeks ago, lol. Yes, I have red flagged it as far as my own investment tactics are concerned as I have spent this week studying the sector and the media around the sector. But that can change in a matter of minutes given the right information!!! And how does one come across that opportunity? By sticking with it and keeping a very beady eye on things. This is my posting board of choice. Filter me and be done with you. A lot of people have burnt fingers thanks to the ramping boiler room crew which you are very much a part of. Nobody needs take lessons from you on what is or is not appropriate or how to interpret information posted. I will invest in my own good time when I see fit.

This is I suspect the story across all seat classes and routes as the pent up demand has been exaggerated. This business model put Ryanair firmly in front as budget market leader before. £5 return to the med surly on the cards again soon. How does IAG compete with that?

Wealthy people DO fly all carriers as befits their schedule when the Lear isn't available. That snobbish nonsense marketing is decades old now and never really worked. In fact a lot of so called wealthy people rather prefer the no nonsense approach, it is a flying bus a to be without being drowned in Champagne at every turn!!!!!! The budget prices are far more market sensitive and give a pretty good indication of the underlying state of the market. Long haul is a bit different, but then just look for long haul on skyscanner for pricing trends. And note too, whilst premium appears to be full, how many of those were in fact departure gate upgrades for some loyal cattle class passengers or names that crop up on the who's who passenger list searches as airlines update their profile database. Upgrading is as much about marketing premium seats for future trips.

And premium travellers are also put off by the testing hassel, it isn't just the cost. So solution is to do the hassle for the passenger. Might help a little but not enough me thinks.
