You might be admitted to hospital in the first instance, but released within hours or a couple of days because you have weak symptoms and you are treatable. The big question is how many who have severe symptoms requiring ICU treatment, get debilitating long covid or die, were vaccinated. There the numbers are clear. Over 90% of deaths are unvaccinated. And it is looking like the Astra jab has an extra component that helps by acting on the T cells where the others don't.

A lot rests on how the US responds to increase in hospitalisations and the expect increases post Thanksgiving spreading. If the US follows the US and goes forward with a firm federal policy of living with covid and all states follow, then it will be a strong lead for the rest of the world to follow. If the states regress to attempt control measures then things will continue to be difficult well into next summer. I think early December when the effect of the holiday impacts become clear will be a critical day of reckoning on how the world finally emerges from the pandemic.

Ryanair, like all airlines, can give hints on the thinking in the industry. Any schedule announcement is of interest to see what differences there will be pre pandemic which may play across to the whole sector.

Now it will be interesting to see analysis of the routes. Ryanair is putting 24 new routes on the schedule, but I wonder whether that is on top of the pre covid schedule or have a load of routes been dropped [and why]. 1st bucket of seats at £29.99 so looks like they have some confidence they can sell a full 2022 summer schedule.

I was tempted to cashin at 154, but I see better before Friday. The afternoon session had all the hallmarks of profit taking. If so, it means day traders are surfing the share. All in one moment, all out profit the next. So I'm resetting an exit point this week at 157/8. Most likely during the post lunch lull like the top was today. OK with a grand punt but the wider dilution issues means far to risky for bigger amounts.
