Of note, however I think the assertion Russians will ride out sanctions for a while is misplaced. Older soviet er maybe, but not younger people. Interesting about is guard unit around him. Story circulating an EU country going to send 'jets'. Bad idea as that will be interpreted as a nation state getting directly involved. If there is to be assistance, it has to be with an organised command structure, i.e. nato. EU has no structure, it would be a disaster.

Note, the world has seen that the Russian army is not up to much. If UK forces alone joined in, I can see most of the Russian army wiped out very quickly. Nobody 'leads' nato. There is no policy. It has a chartr with a revolving leadership chair and it is based in Europe, not the US. You keep confusing nato with UN forces to use force which are typically led by USA forces due to size. China may however start taking lager roles in the future as the US pulls back from being 'the world's' policeman. The last act of nato was in the balkans as a humanitarian intervention (without UN sanction incidentally) as the civil war descended into genocide and Russia was still on its knees post communism. Otherwise nato has been winding down substantially over the last few decades believing the Russian threat was also reducing as Russia continued to integrate and engage terrorist communities.

There is NO climate change. There is no change in natural cyclical temperature oscillation on short or medium term. There is still a recovery from the last ice age but it can not be measured over the short term. CO2 makes up 0.04% of the atmosphere. It is physically impossible for even the worst predictions of CO2 increase to alter the short or medium temperature. Any increase in CO2 is immediately converted to sugar in photosynthesis, it is not possible to increase CO2 without removing most of vegetation on earth. Rainforest do not and have never provided the Earth's oxygen, it came from volcanic rocks 0.5 billion years ago.

We have the whole day bobbins for the reality of the increased sanctions to sink in around the Kremlin and for events to happen. Ukraine MIGs are still patrolling the skies and taking put convoy targets and forward Russian air defenses. And as far as over running Ukraine in a few days, nothing on the ground seen so far supports that remotely.

The reference to the climate change issue is valid, but this writer needs to research and understand what it is he is talking about. Net zero is the economic suicide policy. Not referencing that shows a rather large deficit of intellect on the subject.

Oh dear. Well behind the curve, even the BBC stopped saying sea levels rise when ice caps melt. The ice is already in the water in the north, the water is already displaced. Sea ice contracts 60% every year with no corresponding change in sea level and the ice sheets have been shedding in the south for millions of years. If there is anything to worry about with melting ice at the south pole, it's the active volcanoes - and there a number expected to blow any time
