The Mueller was a indication of what was to come. Complaining that some people campaigned on behalf of a candidate as part of electioneering. The Mueller attempt to ban such campaigning failed, but Facebook and Twitter have found a policy way around it and simply delete anything positive for a candidate they don't like including the candidate claiming it could incite violence.

The top military power is rather overstated. Russia has some high tech, but not that much. Much of the air force is old and out of date. It is China that has been spending and upgrading. 75% of his forces are around Ukraine at the moment. He needs a very big hammer to smash a smallish nut. And you are also expecting all the Russian servicemen to be up for it - bearing in mind the depth of family ties. The Russian army is going to get a slap or two and the air force is raking up an alarming loss of aircraft if the reports of 7 down aircraft is anything to go by. Remember the Russian's have to ut a Z on their equipment to tell it apart from the same Ukrainian equipment. The Russians have to move through the mud and extend supply lines. It will not be a walk over. After all that for a few months, then face up to the very much more modern nato force????

Ed1, what US policy. Since Obama the US has been massively withdrawing from Europe both in military, political and policy terms. Trump was even more inward looking. That is why the EU was left to deal with things like Donbas and Russian relation with Nato. But the EU has followed its own self interest and simply didn't listen to what was being said in Moscow. The EU has failed again on a monumental scale. There is no way of covering it up or blaming the west or the US or brexit......
