I agree Fordy. The loss was not forgotten at all, indeed it was less than forecast/expected. The debt is being very well-managed and Carnival is forecasting some pay down in the next two years plus most of the remainder on single figure fixed rates.

The outlook was positive in every respect except one - namely that the loss per share over the next two years will be more than the analysts forecast.

It is almost as if the markets only take notice of anything downside.

Like many, I have got to hang in there.

It would help if folk actually read the SEC filing. Most seem not to bother or are incapable.

PS I think you’re right about the long term. The total passenger capacity will slowly increase over the next couple of years but no new ships in 2026.

They do also talk about being able to drive through significant price increases. Indeed, these are already happening in my experience. Looking to book a 12 night cruise in 2025 I found it tge same price as a 19 nighter that we’re doing in May.

That is pretty much 60% up! No wonder they expect EBITDA to increase!

Hi Elliot,

I haven’t heard that in the broadcast at all - EBITDA has increased and is projected to continue to increase over the next year so that Carnival can return to “investment grade” status in the US.

Maybe a lot, therefore, is longer term stuff. The treasury dept. is doing a great job on debt management and they have also stated openly that they do not intend to issue equity.

I do have to wonder if the markets actually read or listen to anything Carnival are saying, or, if they do, they think the Senior Management are lying.

They absolutely deny that. There is 8bn of liquidity plus other revolving credit.

The results exceed expectations on EVERY measure and still the sp goes down. F****** ludicrous.

If you have the time, it might be worth listening to the simulcast at www.carnivalcorp.com this afternoon at 15:00 our time. Results need to beat expectations by a margin and we should see a good uptick.

Like a number of folk on here, I am in for the long haul as my average buy price is just under £8.
