Ditto the buffet - owing to the various issues on board, it became “served” which meant waiting staff transferred from other areas, leading to slower service etc.

We are seriously thinking about backing out of the cruises we’ve booked for 2024 and 2925. We do one a year, usually.

Many folks were talking about going with Saga. Not sure about that, myself.

One of the main attractions for us is the fact that we don’t have to get on an aeroplane to go cruising with P & O. Better half gets real ear problems that cripple the first day or more after flying.

Anyone remember the old Flanders and Swann song about the London Transport omnibus? It had a line in it about “cut down all the stages and stick up all the fares”. The staff on board try really hard but the attitude etc. comes from the top, both on the ship and from the management. They must get demoralised when they overhear the kind of conversations that were going on. Felt quite sorry for them. Entertainment was good, except for the comedians, including the Morcambe and Wise tribute pair. Theatre Company excellent to brilliant, the “RK’s” and Jenny Williams also. The Four Harps passable.

As Mrs B said, “I am here to have a holiday, not keep Carnival afloat”.

Back home off Arcadia to this good news - long May it continue.

We had both Norovirus and COVID on the ship. Along with the minor, niggling cutbacks, many passengers not happy with P & O, and tge Captain in particular.

Anyway, overall enjoyable and met many very nice people as usual.

Paul Ludlow is now CEO/President in the UK of both P & O and Cunard.

Thanks K. We have been following the rules, i.e. hand-washing with soap and water as well as sanitising before entering a restaurant or other venue. It ain’t that difficult but you can see the obstinate idiots - mostly, but not all, blokes - who don’t and are asking for trouble.

BTW what’s happened to PREM? Hoping it should rebound.

Here we are in Lisbon aboard Arcadia.

Very mixed feelings! Norovirus AND COVID on the ship. Crew feeling the stress. Captain is invisible just makes announcements that no one believes about things being under control and infection numbers reducing.

Seriously concerned about our next two booking and whether we should cancel.

Oh well, home on Friday. At least the SP is up a bit.

Outbreak (small) of AGE on Arcadia. Extra day in Barca so, of course it rained. Villefranche cancelled. Direct to Genoa from here tonight, tomorrow and next night.

Hope it escaped the floods.

Have had three days enforced absence having been at sea on Arcadia. Sending this from Cadiz.

It was a nice surprise to come back to a price of £7.75 as this puts me nearly above water.

We have a small outbreak, 9 cases I believe, of Acute Gastroenteritis (AGE), which I would take to be Norovirus. However, measures taken to restrict/stop the spread and they have let us into the port.

Hopefully a good rest of the week for the sp with Q2 results due at the end of the month.

Absolutely, Fordy. Am in this for the long haul. On Arcadia for three weeks tomorrow so should take a break from looking.

Interest rate increase in UK y Easter day put a bit of a dampener of the price, I think.

P & O must be coining it. They have just announced a new Northern, Western and Eastern Regions sales executives and a manager to work with travel agents, plus a National Traing Manager.

More overheads. No wonder prices are up…….

PS we were also told by friends on our last cruise to avoid Deck 8 Conservatory Suites because it’s the Prom deck on Iona and Arvia.

We tend to keep our kit on, anyway. Don’t they have curtains?
