Sorry to hear the Bot. Is that your upper jaw or lower? Sounds like lower. In order to be effective, a tooth must have an opposite in the other jaw.

I’m wondering if I shall actually need any treatment on Friday but, as a previous dentist said to me, it’s a question of trying to get everything in balance to get some stability. Otherwise you’ll be going back and forth for as long as it takes.

Expecting the usual drop later when NYSE opens…….

You paint a very strange picture of your oral health, Bot! You might have to splash a bit of cash but finding a dentist you trust is the most important thing. I hope you can find one.

I was at the hygienist yesterday - new girl never seen before but absolutely brilliant at what she did. No pain at all and always saying what she was doing or about to do. Hope she becomes permanent. Have to go back to see dentist on Friday because I have a very small piece of a larger filling broken away. Not causing any problem but worth getting checked out.

Baldy - please do not panic about the debt. All the cruise lines have the same problem to a greater or lesser extent. Lenders would not have put up the money unless they were more than sure they would get it back and that Carnival could afford to service it in the meantime. Carnival have also refinanced large chunks of it to single figure interest rates.

Usual pattern - hovering all morning around £10.55 the the drop when NYSE opens.

LTI, Carnival do have a plan to achieve “investment grade status” by 2026, they say. That being the case, debt will have to have been reduced to probably half what it is now and dividend will return.

Looking forward to that. The volatility of the SP says to me that that is not the value to which debt should be related. It would make far more sense to relate it to net assets - currently around 50%. But who am I to suggest such a thing……

Thanks Bot. ii is Which? recommended. Flat fees and pretty low trading fees. Looked at A J Bell but they seem to want the larger investor - well, someone with a large portfolio, anyway. I would qualify as the former but not the latter!

HL don’t really allow investing on exchanges other than London so could not get RCL - even if I wanted to. Still don’t understand why RCL favoured so much over CCL. Relative to size, they seem pretty much on a par debt-wise etc although RCL are bring back a Divi sooner.

PS have been thinking about going to “iI”. Anyone any knowledge/experience. They have a lower fees case tge HL for my size of SIPP. Is their admin up to scratch?

OK, something a bit different. Should I switch away from HL as my platform now they have recommended the offer to shareholders (of whom I am not one, they just administer my SIPP).

Their service etc has been excellent up to now.

The comparisons are always difficult because of the kind of split share structure. Shorts in CCL here (CUK in US) are listed as only one who increased their position at tge back end of July. I don’t thing they are affecting the price. Whatever price we have here is pretty well a reflection ogf what happens on the NYSE, I think.

I do not understand at all how one day can so drastically affect everything from Forex to indexes to interest rates. Ridiculous.

Gee, thanks, Bot, not. All I was trying to was lighten the day a bit. Seems CCL here is almost managing that without me, you and, possibly, CWWX, too. Haven’t seen much of him today…..

BTW, it isn’t his board that is stupid, it’s all of us mugs and nutters who think we know how to invest - especially in CCL😂

It got as low as £9.69 at one point. I await 14:30 with not a little trepidation.
