What an interesting, if somewhat chewy, read, YR. The question out of it for me is, first, where do I fit since, in my own mind anyway, I have determined that the two major holdings I have are for the longer term, maybe two or three years, and the other three I am stuck with because their value is almost trivial and it would cost me more in fees to sell them? Secondly, does it matter because I am happy with my position?

Unfortunately, the “hold” by the BoE today has strengthened the £ against the $ to 1.33. That’s another 10p we have “lost” but the SP is still doing OK.

Bot, I think I agree with IWFH but there is a good chance that the BoE will also cut but not by so much which could still see the £ strengthen.

I also, slightly late as usual, took a small punt on AYM. It’s now worth more than I paid, including the HL fee of £11.95 (this discourages small deals). So far, so good. Bottom drawer, as you say.

Much against our better judgement we really enjoyed our week on Iona and have booked to be on Arvia for two weeks in the Med. Like IWH, we don’t usually go in school hols but on Iona there were lots of families and more than enough space. It never felt crowded.

We had a conservatory mini-suite - ON DECK 9! - if you go on deck you will be gawped at by those walking on the Prom deck.
