I see that Mirabella closed their short position late last month. I hope they are licking their wounds. You may get the impression I don’t like “shorters” - I cannot think why that might be. I put them on a par with Private Equity. They do nothing for the economy generally or anyone, really, other than themselves with no thought the consequences for even the businesses they own, let alone any others.

Just financial parasites, really.

Agree, CWWX, it will be interesting to see by how much the results exceed expectations - there must be some of that priced in already, I fear.

It’s part of their target of achieving “investment grade” in 2026. I wouldn’t worry about the debt now that the share price has increased so much. Analysts use market cap as the value which debt is judged against. Seems just plain daft to me. Surely should be set against net assets.

Anyway, what do I know? Bats always turn left on exiting the cave…….

Results for year end 30th November are due just before Christmas. Exceeding predictions doesn’t seem to have done Carnival any favours in the past but that should change. 2026 is the target to achieve Investment Grade status, a big deal for the management - and us!

Debt is always raised as a negative but now that Market Cap has increased substantially it will perhaps become less of a consideration.

Another snout in the trough. I have said before that multi-nationals with this kind of structure are always top-heavy on overheads, I used to work for one and we always railed against the amount that was creamed off by the HeadOffice.
