As for saying the bond-buying will cease tomorrow, that was guaranteed to unsettle everyone - AGAIN! He needs getting rid of. The mini-budget hasn’t helped, not have subsequent statements from HMG. Maybe they need getting rid of, too. Although exactly with what or whom is a problem.

I don’t think they at risk of going under because debt holders would have pulled the plug. They also did a share issue at $9.95 fully underwritten a while back. I can’t think that the underwriter is too happy but, like the rest of us, will have to stick with it for a while.

I am booked on P & O for May 2023 and July 2024.

I agree about idiots who don’t declare or plainly lie about their situation and whether they have taken a test or not.

All the information has been known for some time. It is difficult to understand quite why the market has taken against Carnival so badly. Debt to asset ratio is 50% against a max target of 75%. Earnings are covering outgoings even allowing for FCC. The RNS is what you would expect.
It is not Cineworld Meravi and I am not the first to tell you that. CCL have 91 ships across nine brands and at least three more ships due for delivery next and next+1 years. If tge debt holders were worried, they’d have pulled the plug by now.

I do agree about the next Covid wave though - that could scupper things.

I wondered about that but are far too many of them, I think, and as each trade costs not just the price but Stamp Duty and probably fees, that is what has put me off in the past -especially for shorter cruises where the extra OBS isn’t that much. They do seem to be in “blocks” as well.

But if you look at the trades, the overwhelming majority are “Automatic”. I suspect this obscure what is really happening, or, at least, dilutes it.

Sorry, cannot agree. They have ships on order, burgeoning ticket sales and bookings. They would, if it came to it sell vessels - they have 91 of the things. Cruising tends not to be historically by recession. Those who go always find the money to do it!

There is no real relationship between the share prices other than a general matching of direction. You cannot buy the US shares here, unless you have that particular facility available which most of us do not, not can you buy the UK shares in the US, ditto re facility. The de facto numerical relationship is just that. An interesting curiosity, nothing more. I am more interested in the pre-results tanking of the sp last week. More than one person has queried it and whether results were leaked before the simulcast. The Q&A afterwards was far to chummy for my liking.

At last! Thanks. That is helpful. I actually wrote to the CEO over the weekend suggesting there was a leak because of the timing and shape of the” tank” about half an hour before the simulcast began. They got a VERY easy ride in the Q&A afterwards, too.

Of course, in three to five years none of might exist! How’s that for a cheery Monday afternoon thought?
