Like or loathe MF, Tom Rodgers is obviously able to spot an absolute bargain (MF comment re-printed below). Notable that "City analysts" commenting that the SP could be as much as 93% undervalued... The DoJ have presented all investors with a window to buy at below bargain basement prices IMHO.

Opioid drug addiction treatment manufacturer Indivior (LSE: INDV) settled its legal woes this past summer and now its future now looks brighter than bright, in my opinion.

Investors can also pick up shares for a song: the firm is forecast to grow its earnings by more than 16% next year and I think it is hugely undervalued. City analysts agree with me, saying the INDV share price could be as much as 93% lower than its true value.

Return on equity is a whopping 84.5%, too. I say it’ll be a bumper year ahead for this stock.

Solid results with no nasty surprises.

They could also buy INDV and supply the real thing... At the current SP the company is a steal.

The recent update reflects just how well the business is performing. INDV are a market leader in a growth business. I would imagine that a number of predators are salivating at the thought of taking over the company given its very low SP. Obviously the DoJ case is the stumbling block at the moment but once there is clarity/closure with that issue the business will be very, very attractive to a predator.

I read that news article. And Governments change their minds. This project has all the ingredients for major political grandstanding at the right time.

I also think that there is every likelihood that the Government will back the project.

This is obviously confusing people.
In simple terms, Purdue supplied the drugs that allegedly helped to cause the opioid crisis in USA whilst INDV supply the drugs that help to combat the opioid crisis.
Completely different.

Combating opioid dependency normally takes the form of using a controlled opioid medication. I have lifted the below info from a US website involved with assisting opioid users. INDV's product is specifically referenced being the leading medication for this health problem & is obviously FDA approved. The DoJ case is based on alleged marketing failures when the product was first introduced by RB & to lesser extent by INDV. A cynic could argue that the DoJ is looking for soft target public companies for easy headlines & fines. However, with respect to INDV this strategy may well back-fire for the DoJ given that INDV are on the front-line fighting this epidemic & are highly regarded by users and the medical profession.

"Heroin Withdrawal Medications
Opioid replacement therapy involves a long-acting opioid medication that is used to keep drug cravings and withdrawal symptoms to a minimum without causing a high. Over time, the dose of these drugs can be tapered in a slow and controlled manner until the patient is opioid-free.

Only two opioids are FDA-approved for the treatment of heroin withdrawal: methadone and buprenorphine. Buprenorphine generally has a more favorable side-effect profile than methadone. One type of buprenorphine product used during opioid detox is Suboxone, which also contains naloxone, which blocks opioid receptor sites to prevent any attempts at abuse."

A significant uplift but well short of where SP will be after DoJ matter put to bed IMHO. Trading on a PE currently of just 1.95.

I fired some questions to Investor Relations about current trading etc & got below response:

"SUBOXONE (based on public script data) is holding up. Again, there’s nothing strategic we are doing to make this so. OUD is a unique patient base, and if patients are doing well on a specific treatment, doctors may ensure that they continue to receive their preferred treatment. The costs of relapse / overdoses are quite high.

We reiterated with our H1 2019 results our comfort with our FY19 SUBLOCADE Net Rev. guidance of $50 to $70 mil.

We expect the OUD treatment market to continue to grow at low double-digit rates for some time. There has been increased government funding and access to MAT, which continues to be the main driver. And, one could argue that we are countercyclical too.

In terms of the pipeline generally – we are focused on early-stage assets that address drug-induced CNS disorders. They are very early stage, but we are maintaining some level of investment."

Interesting R&D at INDV referred to in H1 2019 Results Presentation reproduced below given Trump's comments today about blocking China imports of fentanyl:

"The second level of activity is what can we do in order to induce a treatment in the emergency department. So we launched a pilot experiment in Virginia, this is what we call the VOTIVE study, in collaboration with Virginia Commonwealth University, their emergency department and the associated addiction clinic. And then last, but not least, we shared for the first time at the American Society of Addiction Medicine, our fentanyl blockade studies, clearly showing that sustained plasma concentrations of buprenorphine higher than 2 nanogram per mil and 5 nanogram per mil, which, by the way, are very similar to dose that are delivered by the 2 approved dosage strength of SUBLOCADE block fentanyl-induced respiratory depression."

Recommend reading the entire transcript to get full understanding of where INDV are positioned going forward. The products they are supplying/developing are where need/demand is extremely high & growing.

The J&J case is based on J&J supplying opioid painkillers etc which it is claimed created the crisis. INDV are supplying products designed to assist individuals that already have opioid dependency. So J&J is related to cause & INDV is related to cure. Big difference.

Continuing momentum today suggests that there may be some further positive news in the offing or it may be investors in general simply loading up on a share that is still grossly under-valued. It wasn't that long ago that the SP was near £5 before crashing under the weight of competition eroding market share as well as margins and then the DoJ. Since then the quality of the INDV product has been proven & the loss of market share & margin has been shown to be exaggerated. Just waiting for the DoJ matter to be settled & the INDV express will be on track towards £2 as a first stop.

The dynamic has certainly changed over the last few weeks which is evidenced by a firming SP. The Motion to Compel could result in the disclosure of all kinds of evidence that assist INDV's defence. Once the DoJ issue is resolved the SP will fly & the DoJ issue could be resolved at any time. I would not want to be short on this stock.

I just got closing price of 10.53, not entirely certain whether final closing but would not surprise me.

Difficult to be precise but was north of 9.9/10p at close. Will be a lot higher than that tomorrow. The bond sale was postponed due to turbulence caused by Trump announcing tariffs on China goods. Now that has been reversed & with positive market sentiment the sale should go through & on (possibly) better terms than previously.

Gives US/China time to do a deal and will positively impact on bonds market.
SXX now has a good window to get a bond deal done.

Always difficult decision knowing when to sell but there is too much upside with INDV to be exiting at this price IMHO. The market & general political /trade situation gives cause for concern but this can turn very quickly. It is in no-one's interest to damage economies/livelihoods so you have to look beyond the posturing & threats. Being patient & holding your nerve is key amidst the turbulence. I continue to rate INDV as a v strong buy.

I know that Motley articles can get a lot of negativity but he's got this 1 right IMHO. PFG is extremely cheap & also due to go XD on 15th August. It is a screaming buy!

Given the scale & broader economic benefit to the North primarily but also to rest of UK that this project brings, I believe there will be a high probability that Govt will get involved in form of a guarantee. Current market is very turbulent and the loans are offered in USD so hardly that surprising that the company has decided to shelve for the time being particularly if the Govt is going to be involved. Obviously the RNS has generated different views which is reflected in the SP. My view is that the SP is North York Moors dirt cheap. If/when the Govt does get involved the SP will be North of 40p.
