I got 11th July Trading update from Hargreaves Lansdown site but not mentioned on Kier's site so could well be fake information.

Woodford effect as well as trading update later this week allied to shorters preying on fear. Pretty lethal ****tail for the SP currently.

Positive news concerning incentivising field staff which has been agreed with FCA. BoD has spent the last 3 months fending off the low-ball offer from NSF. Maybe now we will begin to see what they are doing to propel the company forward. My main concern for SP is the Woodford situation. But if the BoD are at least making the right decisions this will help enormously to offset the Woodford problem.

I can think of 1 irrational investor who may have no option but to sell at this price given the number of investors trying to remove their money from his funds. PFG is at a give-away price but this price erosion can spook PIs or (at best) have them remain on the sidelines rather than buying at these v low levels.

Perverse view from Canaccord. The flip side is that the sp is a steal at this price.

Big positive for INDV. The main issue is that the opioid addiction problem is a major problem in US. Fueled not only by illegal drug use but by prescription drugs. The situation is exacerbated by the cost of US health care & cost of medication is also very high. So this is a perfect storm of many US health-care issues and is a v hot political concern. This explains in part the legal case that INDV & RB are involved with but also highlights that INDV are at the forefront of supplying & researching medications designed to combat the opioid epidemic. The legal case (effectively) is about trying to get lower medication prices which shows that the US govt is actually delivering on its promise to get lower pricing from drug companies. There will be a lot of horse-trading going on behind the scenes between the respective legal teams to get some kind of deal. I personally expect (no inside information, just based on public domain) a (soon) resolution which will serve to remove the major obstacle from the INDV sp.

PFG is now a much better proposition than pre-NSF.
Woodford reducing his stake removes over-dependence on his investment decisions/fund requirements.
The PFG BoD have had a huge shock which will have caused them to hasten their strategy to bring PFG back towards its full potential & identify cost savings & new opportunities for the company.
IMHO the SP is still very cheap but is being held back by Woodford's further fund cash requirements.

Or trade in the current range. However, 1 piece of good news will motor the SP.

Lot of pressure on Woodford. Will be interesting to see whether he's big enough to backtrack on this v poor deal & let PFG BoD get on with re-building the business.

Previous Presidents have let the trade imbalance simply mount up. Got to admire DT stepping up to the plate to try & address. Ditto problems with N Korea, Iran, immigration etc etc.
Wrt PFC, there is nothing worse than uncertainty for an investor which is why the SFO is such a spanner in the works. If they do decide to go ahead what would the fall in the SP be, even though already priced in to a degree? That question is certainly in my mind when investing in PFC.

It will take more than 1 term for DT to sort out the mess left by Obama (surely the worst US President ever), Bush & Clinton. The Chinese do not respect IP & the massive trade imbalance between US & China also needs to be addressed. These are just 2 of the issues that are driving the Trump administration to be tough with China. There are many others that transcend short term stock market gyrations. I obviously do not like to see my investments (PFC being 1 of them) hit but the biggest problem with PFC currently is the sword of Damocles potential legal threat rather than negotiating techniques being employed to sort out trade relations.

I can obviously understand the frustration with the performance of PFG over the last few years.
Having the FCA crawling all over it has also not helped.
However, the company does show signs of being revitalized.
The problem with NSF is that they have offered a very poor price for the company. Quite frankly an insulting price given that it also introduces a high level of risk.
Their offer may well have been the kick that PFG BoD needed to give them a sense of urgency to propel PFG forwards. PFG is in pole position within the industry but must keep abreast of & take advantage of new developments within the market.
As a PI I will not be accepting the NSF offer. But I will be closely watching how PFG performs going forward, assuming it remains independent. Under-performance from now onwards should not be tolerated.

Also exposes US hypocrisy about patent violations by the Chinese against US companies such as Apple.
The problem is that US courts are not impartial (cf BP case & the fraudulent claims allowed by US courts by US citizens claiming compensation). They have a US first policy & extracting enormous damages from non-US companies is part of their modus operandi.
INDV are research led which involves significant cost & risk when developing new products. These need to be factored into the supply cost.
There is a lot of politics at play in the DoJ's decision which ultimately will damage those requiring treatment as foreign medical research companies cut back their work.

The NSF offer is far too low & should be rejected.
There are also other potential issues which make the offer very risky.
PFG has turned a corner and is now paying dividends.
Current management & strategy should be given further time to increase S/H value.

US legal system works very slowly & is based in commercial cases on what amount can be screwed out of the company particularly if foreign (Reckitts being in the target sight and BP being a prime example of the way that US courts operate).
I believe its the presence of Reckitts that is giving traction to this case given their v large size as well as being foreign.
Obviously the matter is of great concern but the market reaction driving the price down to 22p is over the (v big) top.
INDV have a top US legal team (& so do Reckitts) & this will run & run until the cows come home, the legal teams have had their exorbitant fees & both companies have stumped up amounts that are both within their current provisions for the matter.
The opioid addiction problem in US is very big & growing. INDV are a major force for good in combating it with their ongoing research. This legal action that has been initiated is equivalent to biting the hand that is helping & is very unfortunate particularly for those addicted & their families.
