Hahaha no it wasn’t me Vegas - probably someone in government. Though having spelled it out repeatedly to my mates at the Financial Times & the Guardian, I know they are kicking themselves now for not running with it sooner!

IMHO, the Huffington post article is tactical briefing from Whitehall; the government are trailing there own announcement and the Huffington Post is the ‘low hanging fruit’.

The story is now being picked up by the Mirror and from there will bleed into other tabloids; I imagine the Financial Times will pick this up over the weekend and we will see more detail in at least one of the Sunday Papers.

I thought this might happen now, because if Boris is going to tell the country - in a highly anticipated speech - that the answer to lockdowns being eased forever is in LFT‘S, the question everyone will ask after Innova is “is it accurate”?

To answer that you need to have data from a test - our test.

Personally I suspect the data has been known longer than we think and held back to allow for Boris’s presser, so likely to be RNSd on the same day as the a Government press release.

Well, It looks like a lot of people did want to be out over the weekend... !

Wyndrum - I expect (but do not know) that they will discus the existence of the UK-Rapid Antigen Test Consortium; they will want to make some political hay from this and moreover, after Innova, I think it will be necessary to build confidence in the LFT's.

I very much doubt that Boris will stand there and say "Avacta", though the press release issued for Surescreen (below) is a good indicator of how they like to release things. I wouldn't be surprised to see one of these out on Monday AM, which may well list the companies involved.

However, as government announcements are likely to prefigure company announcements, if the Government does release details around the UK-RATC on Monday, I wouldn't be surprised to see our RNS pop-up as well.

Hence - I wouldn't want to be out over the weekend!

Wyndrum - it's a hunch, but given the amount of work that's gone into forming a national testing consortium and the Conservatives need for good news stories, I suspect they will make a massive song-and-dance about 'the best of British biotech, etc' .

If Boris is announcing the 'route out of lockdown' on Monday, I would expect government press release on Monday morning and briefings to sympathetic press over the the weekend, with a focus on Sunday papers, to warm the public up for it.

Therefore I think it's quite probable we will hear news related to us - TU could also come on Monday or follow on, but I expect the government to break the news first and this is a logical time to do it.

Perhaps naively - I am not a scientist - I think the risk is pretty low:

Precision's mechanism of action is to render the chemotherapy inert until it reacts with the FAP protein in the tumor. As the biochemical mechanism of action is proven in the mouse model and is identical in humans, there strikes me as relatively few ways unexpected results can occur.

With Affimers, the therapeutic version is based off the Stefin A protein which is found throughout the human body - so again, it should be well tolerated. Safety studies undertaken by Avacta have confirmed its low immunogenicity, so the Affimer platform itself shouldn't be the cause of adverse reactions (though of course, it's targets hypothetically could).

Others with a more scientific background can likely elaborate, but given but platforms have been designed specifically for us in Humans since inception, I suspect risk of failure at this point to be very low - presumably as does MHRA..

It was priced I think - share is undervalued, sure, but it had a good rise yesterday in anticipation of news on top of a very strong rise across the week.

Additionally, news - while great - isn't a major catalyst; it was almost a forgone conclusion that when the application was originally submitted by the competent team at Avacta, it would be granted by MHRA. I think the start of the study will trigger a bigger increase - right now the timeline is a little too distant and ambiguous to push on further from our gains this week, methinks.

Still, nice to consolidate around these levels: if Boris pulls the trigger on Monday this will explode!
