Just what is your purpose on this board. Are you deluded enough to think your ranting on about how crap a share this is, is in some way gonna drive the share price down? How can you deliver straight from the mail centre. Ours is in Sheffield, 50 miles away and we usually get about 20-30 yorks of packets to be sorted on ips. You'd need 10 vans driving out to deliver one town 50 miles away.

Definitely not for the convenience of the postie! It takes longer. Much longer. I just knock, start writing a card out, knock again halfway through and if they ain't answered by time I've finished, it gets red carded and securely returned to office. It's royal mail that want to leave packets at neighbors.

It's RM policy. We get told off and managers don't get their bonus if the '1st time delivery' figures are down. Personally I agree with you, and don't give a stuff what management say. Unless I know the neighbors want it left with each other, it gets red carded and back to post office. I do do a rural village though so everyone literally just round corner from the post office.
Apparently leaving with neighbors is what the customer wants according to surveys done by RM. At one point we were told to try next door, across road, next road ( I kid you not), just as long as we didn't bring it back.!!

That works if the SP doesn't rise considerably into ex div day. For example, last week you could have got BHP for 1585 ,held til ex div day, got the 5% div and still sold for 1620 ish as it had risen to 1705 before going ex.

You have to keep each months batch for 5 yrs before you can sell. This maybe explains the lack of uptake by the directors, with the turnover rate, not many are with the company for 5 yrs! Lol.

The article may explain the uptick in SP at end of the week, however, I doubt that there is any truth in the buyout story. I doubt duetch post would want to take on all that royal mail entails ( USO, falling letters, cwu, clueless management), even though it may be a good sp to buy. When mr Back bought his shares at £3.18, I doubt he had it in mind to sell out to the Germans for £3.50.

That's alot more than mr Corbyn would be paying if he got to power.

There are union agreed standards but invariably are not monitored unless there's an obvious weekness. Less and better more efficient managers is the way to save money. If you came into a delivery office in a morning you would just laugh. Then at 10 when all the posties have gone out carrying on their hard work for another 6 hrs, all 6 of them in an office of 100 posties, do jack till they think it's a reasonable time they can sneak off. Waste of space most of them. They only need to be part time really.
