Just one point, the delivery point calls are always going to be the same or even increasing. The perceived drop off in letter volume doesn't make delivery any quicker, we just go to the same houses with less mail per house. Making deliveries longer will never get past the union, to expect us to deliver outdoors for 7 or 8 hrs is totally unrealistic and will never happen IMHO. 8 hrs outside in 2 degrees and rain or 30 degrees and sun? No way. Don't want to appear negative but I really can't see a vast improvement coming any time soon. The CSS letter sorting machines can't even cope with xmas cards ,the amount of miss sorts is unacceptable. Can't see a parcel sorting machine coping with all the handwritten dodgy labels and the tiny Chinese ones. ATB.

Yeah, that's kinda what I thought and it's worrying as I can't see how they can make more profit out of packets than letters. We don't need any more packets we can hardly cope as it is. As I thought, it's a broken business model. We cannot do packets AND letters and make a decent profit the way it's going.

It is busier than ever, however, it has been all yr, relatively speaking but the results don't for some reason, show it. Can't work it out, other than the main reason it's busy is parcels which take alot of money to process, transport and deliver. That's all I can think, that our current business model can't make big money on such a labour intensive process and remain competitive.

So where exactly would Corbyn get the money to do all the things you say? More money spent on the benefit society, less tax coming in because the economy will go to pot with rising unemployment. I just think he's living in cookoo land. On a broader note, why doesn't the whole of parliament work together on Brexit instead of arguing. It's a shambles.

Then again it's not a fortune for him on the offchance that the SP recovers.

Hi, it's not when the dividend is actually paid that the SP drops, it's when it goes ex dividend, which was last Thursday. Therefore they'll be no dividend induced drops until june next yr for a final dividend (if it holds).

Could be quite a prudent decision. I have a sell order at 68.50, maybe she'll pop this week, barrick was well up on Friday close and gold is rising. Like you however, I'd sooner cash in before we roll over into barrick, just for the ease of it all. There's plenty of good value stocks available at the moment. BHP is by no means expensive and will a special dividend coming this month from its shale sale to BP , it may be worthwhile putting my resume money to work there. There may be a bit of an over reaction to British stocks after Tuesday 'if' May's Brexit deal gets thrown out. The markets are bit of a minefield at the moment though. GL all.

And I'll be buying having seen how many packets we're shifting. I reckon we could get that low in the aftermath of 12th December D day. That would have to be a good price long term though. All shares getting battered at the minute, at least UK related ones. RRS hasn't done too bad but that's why you should have a balanced portfolio, just mines more weighted on the down side lol. Glad I didn't go in on Thomas Cook at 60p which I thought was a bargain, look at it now, that's why I'm holding off buying back into RMG for now. GL all.

Half the staff we had 3 yrs ago? Really? So you're saying there were 250,000 posties 3 yrs ago? Our office has taken more staff on in the last three years, and still would be up the creek if 20% of them didn't work their days off, or 75% of them didn't come in early and work for free. As for packet sorting machines, hadn't they better get 100% of letters machine sorted first? Just how are the packet sorting machines gonna sort anyway, is it down to individual walks, with like, a shrouded york for each walk? What about the chinese packets you can barely read an address on?

Dear Nuri, I'm afraid you have no grasp of our workplace with your comments on how we can improve. We cannot simply reposition ourselves as a parcel business because we have to do letters at the same time ( and they aren't dropping by as much as they'd like you to believe). Sickness levels will only go up as more and more posties are bullied by managers to complete impossible workloads, which causes stress and physical fatigue. Royal mail actively thrive on keeping overtime high and contract hrs low. Don't worry too much about that as our overtime rate is only 10p/hr more than standard, unless you do more than 48hrs/wk total, then it DROPS 70 odd pence! They don't have to pay the overtime when your on holiday you see, or pay pension contributions on overtime. Don't hold your breath on productivity savings , it isn't going to happen imho. We are a unique business model, kinda jack of all trades, master of none. At the moment, we really can't cope with the work coming in that we have, we are literally cut to the bone. If everyone said on day, we're just gonna work our contract hrs, we'd be screwed. I really can't see how to improve from here. More parcels is not the answer, as the extra time it takes obviously isn't worth the extra revenue otherwise we'd have been making loads of profit.

Without a Brexit deal. That would be the time to go bargain shopping for shares. Can see this being sub £3 again the mood that the markets are in and taking out the 8p divi. We really shouldn't be, we're busy as , but the profit warning has interested the big shorters coupled with Brexit worries and RMG (and we're not alone in this) have just stumbled into a perfect storm.

Royal mail deliver for Next and House of Fraser. At least they do in my area.

As all you mentioned are not governed by the USO, they are not fair competition.
