People don't just die of covid you know. Although with all the media you'd think that covid was the only thing killing people this yr. How about all the non related deaths that are happening and yet to manifest as a result of an over reaction to trying to save covid patients above all others?

Amazon haven't got the complication of having to deliver letters. That's why in our current state we will never keep up with the likes of Amazon. Oh and yeah we actually have to deliver the parcels instead of just dumping them on the doorstep!

You just have to look at the state of the average royal mail van to see that we are not investing in that area for starters. The amount of vans I refuse to take out due to dangerous faults that never get seen to is shocking. Trouble is there's always some corner cutting numpty willing to take them out coz it'll slow their day down to mess around trying to get another. And the managers know this.

A solid and reliable service to keep customers! Yeah right. That's why I'm not delivering the non tracked parcels today as haven't got time, and there's 5 walks in the office not going out at all! Yeah, quality of service!

Regards parcels pick up and 'passing the house' . Most deliveries I would say, will wait till they're finished delivery then go round and do the parcel pick ups. It's the only way you'll fit them in the van especially this time of yr. On a van share walk , the van is literally packed from top to toe and bottom to top with the delivery when they set off. People were leaving parcels last yr because they couldn't physically fit in the van. Also it will only be the driver who can pick up because you couldn't pick up with just a light weight trolley, so customers will have to stay in all day and wait for the pick up. Can't really see this being popular unless they plan on staying in all day anyway.

The business community will for sure want us back but how does the GOVT there view it? Seems a bit strange they would welcome visitors from a country in partial lockdown.

Just a thought, do the canaries actually want us Brits there though? With our infection rates?

But how much is the purchase price compared to an equivalent diesel? How much is a new battery when that is needed? What's the range compared to the 800+ mile range of a diesel? How much depreciation is there in the first 5 yrs of the life of the car? What if there's a power cut during the night when you're recharging it? I could go on...

What, royal mail planning for Christmas? Never. It always takes them by surprise. This yr I can see mountains of packets stacked high for days in offices and probably walks left in for days too. We're all knackered more than ever this yr and I can't see many working well into the dark to get their walk finished.

Overtime is thru the roof in our office.

Reduce staff? Huh? We ain't got enough as it is. Only way they need to reduce staff is if we only deliver 5 days a week instead of 6. Other than that, I can see us needing more staff!

What's the point? Our rates of infection are rising just like Europe, despite the travel bans. It makes no difference, plainly. This stupid tavel ban is just destroying the travel industry for nothing. Crazy.

A dutys parcels in an hr? Huh. Obviously don't work for royal mail. Mine has on average 60-70 tracked alone. Then there's traveling time, writing 739s out. Absolutely no chance.

Other companies making a huge loss weren't able to trade, we on the other hand have been busier than ever for the time of year. Yet we still cannot generate a profit.

Isleworth, I'm well past caring. I'm not willing to work a 12hr day to clear my walk after it doesn't go out on my day off. It's not good though that someone pays for a 1st class recorded and it sits in an office for days.
