I need closer to £7 to be breaking even on this one. Although, anything significantly greater than where we are now wouldn't be awful considering how long I've been underwater.

I do worry with this one that these guys are asset strippers and already have a back room deal with EchoStar to sell on the L-Band spectrum and then cash in on the rest of the business. So, reject it please the board.

EchoStar's bid at the time of offering was worth £5.32 a share. So this is 2p more than that recently rejected one. I hope the board treat it the same way. Then let's see how much EchoStar really want that spectrum.

The results are well known though spikephoto. I suspect the sp won't react a great deal unless there are surprises in the 2019 outlook.

Are you referring to me? Switched thread? I'm not bothered. I just thought you were extrapolating beyond what was said in the interview and implying that VRS operating as a UK company inside the EU faced some kind of impediment.

No one would claim there aren't challenges to doing this sort of work in the EU but the interview is discussing the environment in the EU only as it is focused on the EU flagship. Simple as that. I doubt the Graphene Institute would be in Manchester at all if the grass was so much greener elsewhere.

Nowhere does he say that the EU is behind the curve RH69. He highlights some of the challenges in bringing new materials to market in the EU. Challenges the flagship is intended to overcome. Challenges doing business in other markets isn't discussed.

Other 2D materials have been theorised since soon after Graphene was first produced. I'm not sure where research is in producing and them testing their properties but it's worth noting that Novoselov has an announced collaboration with Nanoco. He's helping them with their 2D materials. Who knows, maybe he's consulting with VRS too but there's no info out there to suggest he is.

Rise seems to be continuing.

It was just a down day around the markets and there was profit to be taken by some here.

I'm sure I read at least in one analyst report from the last couple of years state that single digit growth was seen as disappointing. I think that the share price is so low that any bad news is priced in. Aviation growth and also US government growth was good. Hence today's move.

Profit was down but hopefully is at it's lowest as a lot of cost is going into installing equipment. At least some planes are up and running. That number should grow a lot with the full roll out of EAN starting pretty much now :-)

It's a big year for Ligado.

Costs to start reducing from next year by roughly $100M and then further from 2021. Think this is the first I've read about the new low cost infrastructure that will come into play from then.

Overall it looks like a steady rise for the next few years with slow but sustainable growth combined with reducing costs. Ligado is a potential downside surprise as payments could stop this year. Then there is a larger than expected uptake in aviation as a possible upside surprise. I'm optimistic about that last one.

I'm glad of the positive reaction in the SP. I wasn't sure what to make of the results. Very much a mixed bag.

I don't expect good results but not worse than laid out in the recent warning. Hopefully that's priced in. I think this rise is due to parts of the market waking up the fact that IQE will have at least 3 or 4 products that are ubiquitous in the next wave of electronics.

I don't know where it's going to go prior to the results. Depending on the outlook given there will either be a pull back on the day or it will carry on up but longer term it looks like production will need to exponentially increase for VCSELs, GAN, wireless, etc and so hopefully will the SP.

The article I linked to is 6 months old. Ligado could have been making progress against objections by making changes to their proposal and committing a large amount of resources to replace existing equipment. They'd have to do a lot more than the, "Don't use your tests use ours," Approach they seemed to have been going for.

They've demonstrated plenty of commitment thus far so it's within the realms of possibility they will get the go ahead. If they do it's an instant couple of quid on ISAT's SP I reckon.

Where does your positivity over Ligado come from please gammybaby? The latest report here suggests it's extremely unlikely they'll get the go ahead...

Ligado is completely discounted from the ISAT share price at the moment. It will be a great boost if they can overcome opposition from the US Air Force; Department of Transport; and the National Space-Based Positioning, Navigation, and Timing Advisory Board; as well as all the non-governmental operators who's equipment will be rendered useless.

If Ligado's arguments are accepted it will be a big bonus for ISAT but as this bid speculation is based on that it's just factoring something in that's very unlikely IMO.

It wasn't much of a rise. Just staying within the current trading range.

If Echostar comes in again I hope it's for significantly more than last time and that they don't think we're distressed enough to take the mickey. I'm a bit skeptical myself as they want the Ligado bandwidth and really looks like that is going to stay closed off for GPS. Hopefully not but it doesn't look good.

Ferruggia since you mentioned the CFO the other day I'm going to guess it's a move to the main market. I'm not asking for you to confirm. Just putting my guess out there. I've held shares in companies that moved to the main market before and unfortunately, in terms of sp, it's made no difference whatsoever.

I don't think last year's results will deviate at all from last guidance. I guess this rise is some shorts closing and others buying on subsequent Q1 news from many of IQEs customers regarding strong demand and the steady drum beat of 5G going into high volume roll out.

I also enjoyed reading Seagate's blog linked to from Sweenoid's post regarding HAMR drives. 40,000 pilot run produced last year with full volume production starting now. If 40,000 was a pilot then how big the eventual market?

I can see many reasons for the rise to continue with maybe a blip on results day unless the forward looking statements are stellar.
