I don't think Mr Trump has the welfare of Chinese workers in mind. He sees that the US has fallen behind in a key technology and has decided to pull a series of dirty tricks to try to cripple them in attempt to catch up. He might succeed or might not. I would guess not because the US is years behind in 5G. All it can do for IQE is disrupt their customers which won't be good.

Nanonano, I think that's a perfect sum up. I think the commission might take cost to consumers into account so their argument might carry some weight. We'll just have to wait and see.

Yeah would be good for people to keep their eyes open on this one. Wouldn't put skulduggery passed Nanosys and for this to be a PR smokescreen. They've done worse.

It would certainly be bad short term for the sp. I wonder how much of the current price is predicated on success in the film market for display though so might correct long term. I've been working from the base case that NANO is dependent on the US nano particle deal alone after suffering a repeated dashing of expectations from our OEM partners. I'm assuming 'the deal' can support a higher sp or I would sell out. All depends on the order landing and how large it is. Previous experience with other companies leads me to believe it could be delayed and smaller than hoped so I wouldn't be surprised to have a bumpy ride.

I would have a coupe of questions about any extension though.

1) How could it be justified? Cad free products are definitely widely available now. I'm a big supporter of the EU and certainly think we should stay in but I do support reform. This would smack of corporate corruption and should be looked at.

2) How difficult is that 100ppm target to come in under? Samsung are compliant with high volume products without Nanoco's help? Is it even that much of a differentiator for us anymore?

I think you can take some comfort ddubya in that it is history repeating itself. In the past ME has not sold because of anything going wrong with the company and the SP has recovered. For that reason I looked on it as a buying opportunity but didn't sell.

There's always a first time for everything. Maybe terrible things are happening behind the scenes this time but that's the risk one takes.

Agree with Crow2. This is nothing to do with Nanoco. It doesn't mention QDs which it surely would as they would be the innovate part of the treatment and Nanoco's dots still have several major testing stages to go through before they can be used in humans. Agree that there will be no great surprise in the H1 numbers. Any positivity will come from RNAs for customer qualifications and the various restructuring completions around the globe.

Basically loads of phones are going to have multiple 3D sensors. This must be worth a lot more to IQE than 10p. I noted Tim Pullen sated in the last presentation that he hoped to raise the guidance for photonics given in the last report. Hopefully this is the first confirmation we're getting of that.

I mentioned this a couple of weeks ago. It'll be ME's annual charity sale. Was waiting for it to see if the price dipped. Good opportunity to buy a few more I reckon.

iPhone earnings despite being a decline are being seen as very positive by analysts. They were expecting a lot worse. So, I think that accounts for the rise earlier today but then IQE started falling back on what looked to be a general market down day.

Anyone expecting ME's annual charity sale this year? He sold 1.85M on May the 15th last but there was no options sale for tax purposes that time around.

Since the market takes a sale like that negatively whatever the reason it might be a good time to buy for the faithful.

Many companies make sensors for Apple. Some will benefit from NANO's particles and some won't. There's nothing to suggest there are any novel nano particles in those Sony sensors and if there were it's very likely NANO would be mass producing now as they are launched.

Agree. I think the next generation of iPhone sensors are coming from Sony.

Time of Flight sensors that are being incorporated into all the new smartphones are IR. They are used for facial recognition and AR applications. I suppose their performance might be enhanced with QDs.

Didn't LO decrease it's stake by 3% and Oddo buy in for 3%? I guess an off market trade considering the volume was only 400k today.
