Nothing stopping any US company investing in IQE today. Why haven't they done so already?

My bet is no trade deal with the US anytime soon. Congress has to approve any deal. Both houses have already made strong bipartisan statements that they won't sign anything that threatens the Good Friday Agreement. That puts all the leverage in the US deal back with the EU ;-) On our side, US demands for full access to agriculture and the NHS will be almost impossible to sell to the people.

I beg to differ. I know a great many of these voters and they are dealing with a severely bad taste in the mouth at the moment.

IP is the big risk here though for sure. From the moment George Osbourne let the Chinese have full access to the Graphene Institute the UK has been in serious trouble on that front. The other way to protect a product is to maintain trade secrets. Little things in the process that make all the difference but can't be or aren't (to keep them secret) patented. I don't see how VRS can keep it's trade secrets using a licensing model.

Trump has no interest in IP. It's too long a term concept for him to grasp. It's up to companies not to get too much involved with China to protect their IP. I think that's the main risk with VRS.

There's a big piece in The Independent saying these things are getting closer. I very much doubt it and can't read the article behind the paywall but if on the off chance they are right it will need a mega giant massive amount of graphene. Something to fantasize about while we wait for this company to start making some profits.
