I'm quite surprised actually that I can't readily find all the old presentations on the Nanoco website. It's a long time since I looked there. This share just came alive again :-)

I did find them though. Next gen according to Nanoco is, "QD / OLED hybrid displays ?QD colour filter?Improved colour gamut, brightness and viewing angle." That's what I'm referring to with Dow and Merck.

I note it also says, "Nanoco’s success will be driven by the broad adoption of CFQDs in current film and QD-OLED hybrid type TV"

troublesome, second generation was dots on glass I believe. Nothing to do with characteristics on film.

Dow built their factory and quoted Samsung too high a price. Samsung found a way to engineer their own solution with Nanonsys and the rest is history to the great detrement on Nanoco. Dow didn't quit though. Nonoco's presentations since have all said, "Dow concentrating on next generation." That being on other slides dots on glass (my reading ).

I don't completely agree BTB. Dow didn't flee the scene. They didn't like the performance of Nanoco's first gen dots and went on hiatus waiting for the second generation. Second gen must be coming along now so it's not beyond the realms of possibility that they're now interested.

An other possibility is Merck. They've been sampling Nanoco dots for a couple of years with an eye to entering the market with second gen products.

If the deadline's today I'm guessing after close or first thing Monday. In the meantime watch for any big sp movement.

I'm more interested in why Coltrane have been reducing. A couple of things to look re the virus are will the factories reopen on time after the new year and will the Chinese consumer buy all those new iPhones Apple predicted in their last results. A lot factories are staying shut but they are not the tech ones apparently. That said, Foxconn is still **** down isn't it? We won't find out about iPhone sales until the next set of suppliers results I suppose.

I suppose it must due to fears of the virus receding and the glowing reports from all IQE's customers. I also saw an article on Techradar a couple of weeks back say that HAMR had been perfected and 80TB hard drives would start appearing toward the end of the year.

However, market effects from the coronovirus will be pretty big on supply chains and delayed. I suspect there will be a correction or two in the short term before realising the growth predicted for the year.

Big day Friday. The SP has been rock solid which means the ship is locked up very tightly or the bid is between 8 and 10p. I think the extension means it will come in and it will be accepted. In the case that it is rejected outright I guess we should expect a placement.

My reading of that RNS was, "Gnanomat is costing us more than expected. We will need a placement." Then the vultures takeover. Hope I'm wrong.

I hope so wellwell but don't know what likelihood to assign to that possibility. Everything you raise including export shipments and Wahong improving has happened before at various times and not resulted in any meaningful revenue to Nanoco. I also feel rightly or wrongly that if the rise was an organic growth story it would be less decoupled from the coronavirus tech drop. It seems to be completely immune, pun intended.

That looks to be as high as RG wants to take it. Is that because he's in the know and the take out price will be just above 20p; is in the know and doesn't want to look too much so and the take out price will be the fairly common average price +30% at 26p; or isn't in the know at all and just making a guess.

I'm afraid it doesn't work that way in good old Blighty amerloque. Just look at sxx, isat, etc...

I really hope Wah Hong has sprung to life and into a sustaining revenue stream. It would be the ideal result for me and what a comeback it would be.

I can attest you guys have been here for years. For the newcomers, the potential has always been there but the critical challenge is surviving financially until it can be realised by NANO and not somebody else. This is the closest the company has come to being wiped out. Patents are only worth what someone is prepared to pay and NANO is in a desperate situation I fear. I honestly have no idea which way this is going to go - low ball offer recommended by the board, high premium because the patents are valuable and trigger a bidding war or finally the display revenue stream kicking in and many years future growth.

It's an interesting little pop alright. Maybe a harbinger of something happening. I personally hope for a revenue stream and the sale to be taken off the table.

Noe the loan capitalisation is done we might start to find out more about the takeover proposal.

I think I may have started this by stating AAL was a foreign business. Happy to admit I was wrong. Happens quite a lot :)

More British potential goes abroad for peanuts following Brexit.

I'm not saying it's value for money but HS2 is actually a very good idea. It's been badly explained. It will benefit a great deal more people than is the common perception.

I posted an article to the same breakthrough a couple of week ago with the same question - Samsung about to start using Nanoco IP or Nanoco IP now valueless? Don't know the answer. I'm sure Samsung don't currently use Nanoco IP. Otherwise the company would be getting some licensing money.

This is just research though. Samsung are planning to invest several billion in developing it. So, they may have made a better dot but it doesn't look like they have a process for mass producing it at a viable cost yet.
