'THE' band ...there was about 5/6 of them dotted around the ground, one of them right in front of us & huge flags being waved all over the shop.

Atmosphere there was certainly plenty of that, although to be honest I think my partner was a little uncomfortable with it a passionate crowd indeed it's a little unfortunate that there were so few English supporters in the ground .. but to be fair we'd lost the series by then & the team was looking very sorry for itself - bit different since Morgan took over the one day side.

Food was generally great but I have to say I found the contrast between the haves & have nots a bit stark & quite sad, the contrast & gulf between hotel grounds & just about everywhere else as soon as you stepped outside the 'generally fenced' grounds was truly shocking, nicer people you couldn't hope to meet though so good natured & friendly.....well those we came across anyways......culture, places of interest & wildlife parks truly amazing..... having an elephant try to wrestle my partners camera out of her hands with its trunk from the top of a covered but open truck whilst simultaneously rocking the vehicle is something that still makes me laugh out loud today :-)) I got the impression everyone else in the truck thought I was a complete nut job as they scampered away in fear as I laughed at them, I really found it quite amusing I don't think there's anyway of appreciating the rumble & resonance of an elephants voice until you've heard it up close & felt the vibrations passing through you... absolutely stunning & I'd put myself there again without a second thought.

Anyway back to watching for movement on the Amazon..

Watched the final Sri Lanka v England one day international in what I have subsequently called 'The Cauldron of Colombo' fortunately for the 12 England supporters crammed into 8 seats timorously waving their flags ... we got mullered.

Great day out though... bit of difficulty getting out at the close of play because a couple of dozen very happy Sri Lankans all wanted to have their picture taken with the departing supporters of the vanquished LoL.

iamrich ... it wouldn't be for KDNC to order the ship but you're right we should know where we're at with negotiations, contracts, rulings etc.

...possibly TC but unlikely in my opinion unless someone in China can provide a return load to work in the same timeframes (you wouldn't want to be paying for an empty vessel returning for a pick up) they'd also need more than one vessel on a yo-yo if they want to be shipping 45kt every 3-4 weeks (which I think was the plan) - no I think it's more likely they'll simply be looking for available vessels once a date they can fill it is known ..... nothing stopping them entering into a fixed term/quantity fixed price contract schedule with a line though & the line then becomes responsible for making sure a vessel is available & turns up on the appointed day (preferably with delay clauses without penalty given sufficient notice).

MB LoL ... you're right on one point the ship would cost more than the crew however the crew would almost certainly be greater than 20 & possibly closer to 30 ....... not that you care though eh .... :-))

I agree MD - shame the cost will probably include a fair chunk for the ship & crew whilst it's sat idle for the best part of a week - but hey ho - perhaps the only other option was to let this one go & not get another free vessel booking for weeks ahead so a price worth paying .... hoping that's the case rather than some wally just being over optimistic with the availability for loading times...

I suspect there'll be as many eyes on tugs, pilot vessels in the first instance tomorrow as there will he on the Xin....

MrJ - I really wouldn't waste your time have you not worked out that this isn't the MrLIthium you might have been referring to from years ago : I suspect it may be jolly back .... again .... or some other such numpty, if it is the original poster he's obviously some sort of traumatic head injury ...

.....I've tried to tell you that Lithium is just an obnoxious keyboard wind up merchant who I think may have a personality disorder or be bi-polar.... as I also said not worth reading, reacting or responding to as with children it only encourages him as its the only way he gets noticed...... I wouldn't believe anything he says either ..... & I mean anything....

....he's got a better / newer name Mr J ..... it's yap yap .... I like it & I'm pretty sure deep down he likes it too... LoL :-))
