Well as usual my congratulations to anyone who has made profit on this share. Given my losses averaging down would be like being a new investor. At 99% down the residue value is so low that my revised average would just be a little over the purchase price of a new purchase. Much more sensible to buy something different.
I would also recommend extreme caution buying on the rise. Sure there could still be money to be made but after 2 days of big rises you got to ask how much longer will it last. If you are going to buy in please do your research and buy for a reason rather than buying because of fomo. Gla

Yup could go either way. I would recommend taking profits if you have them and not to be gready. It's all to easy to lose money here so if the going is good don't blow it hoping for an even bigger rise.

Lol I totally with the sentiment as I am over 99% down, but with 21% up and a 12 +. 5% spread there actually be some lucky people making a gain. In which case, well done., now get out before you lose it all!

Nice one Slean ?? not sure about glorious independence day, but I am inclined to agree that the progressive left do tend to conceive of people that they are something to look after. The NHS and the welfare state are two truly worthy achievements, but other than that I struggle to think of anything anything else that the left has done that has really helped people.

I am sure that if you find things wrong the property its frustrating, but the news story does seem a little one sided. I am not convinced that there is much professional pride with builders, but how you deal with defects is skill. Sure complain, but remember that you want to be working with the builder to put things right and any strong arming is likely to damage the professional relationship between house buyer and house builder rather than result in getting what you want.

As for all things brexit it stuck me at the time of the leadership competition bojo's talk of million to one chances was indicative of his sleepwalking into no deal or obscuring an intention to pursue a no deal policy. It has always struck me that if we voted to leave the logical outcome would be more of a Canada style relationship otherwise as the alterative would be something close to the status quo but with no to no influence. As such I can see why May deal would be unpopular, but May's deal was just the divorse element. It seems that the UK has always been more concerned about the ongoing trade issues where the EU has been talking about the withdraw. It seems both sides have always been at cross purposes. If only there was a way to bridge the gap, but it seems that this would only be possible if we could settle an ongoing trade deal at the same time as agreeing UK withdrawl. Just don't see any agreement any time soon.

Sad if that's true and just just because of my investment. I have been banging on about BOD comottiment for a while. One thing that is clear is that ordinary shareholders can do little.else than buy sell or hold. But in my opinion for God's sake don't buy!

Totally agree Uncanny. I think there is a lot of bad sentiment against the BOD and a lack of confidence in them. I think the issue with the insurance is that you could look at it as the BOD protecting their own wealth and washing their hands of responsibility,but as you say this sort of insurance is commonplace and is no indication of anything underhand

I think you are right and that some optimism is required here. The problem is very poor share performance and a distinct lack of confidence in the BOD. Hopefully something good can come out of the investor day

I don't think this is a cause for.concern. Sure if you were an incompetent or malign you would want to insure to protect yourself, but you might want to insure against the consequences of making a decision or undertaking. taking action in good faith.

Thanks for all the insights. I think there is a real problem if you are asking someone to take a bet that you yourself won't. Fair enough having privileged information might stop the BOD taking that bet, but I think there is a underlying confidence issue which I think could be assessed to some degree by the BOD making more of a show of their own investment, that clear demonstration of how much skin they have in the game.
I also thought the point made that they put in money at the start was well made and relevant, but I think the issue of their salaries is an issue. If they take salaries to the extent that dwarfs the money put in it negates the claim that they have skin in the game. Continued investment would.demonstrate their ongoing commitment and confidence. As mentioned inside info might prohibit that, but I think that the SP would benefit from more obvious support from the BOD.

Thanks Valju, just looked on companies house, the register is not for public view. I looked at the filings under "capital" as well but nothing meaningful there. I only started thinking about this as when I saw posts about the investors day. I think the BOD need to be told that they need to show they are committed by buying more shares themselves, and more importantly making others aware of how much they are invested themselves. I certainly would not buy any placing shares if the BOD aren't meaningful investors themselves.

Definitely interested in the investors evening, hopefully something positive will come out of it.
I was just looking at directors deals on here. Not sure if I am interpreting what I see correctly so I would be greatfull for comments one way or the other. It looks like. Satu held. 23m shares at one point. Sold the majority of these, then brought 1.3m shares and has a holding of. 1.8m shares. Is that correct? Have I misunderstood what I am looking at?

I would sell my. VAL shares if there was little prospect of reducing my losses and I was going to make gains large enough to pay tax on.
