There seems to be bit of a pattern with brexit. From the moment of the announcement of the referendum shares seemed to rise when there was confidence that we would remain and when there has been some optimism that we might get a deal. Unfortunately the reverse is also true. Fingers crossed that any drop tomorrow is minimal. GLA.

Sad thing is that if any politician tried to take a moral stance on anything they would be lampooned. The media would mock them as twee or old fashioned, or they would be eager to point out said politican was hypocritical because they dropped some litter. The only politican who hasn't fallen foul of this was Tony Blair, but his conflating doing what is right with doing what he thought was right was undermining enough not to require much lampooning from the media

I am not sure if modern subjects like media studies are silly. The problem seems to me to be that there is confusion about skill sets. it seems to me that the problem is not that these people do not end up as Spilberg, how many physics students become an Einstein? The issue is that we don't seem to be living in a media world or at least that media skills aren't as relevant as some might help. The cynic in me however takes the view that universities have benefited from peddling the lie that such modern subjects are valuable to modern society and hence to the students queuing up to hand over money to universities and just as culpable politicians willing to peddle the associated lie that young people are being invested in. Perhaps such subjects make more sense if they are rigourous enough to require the best students and there is a clear way in which the skills learnt translate into a requirement in the work place. In either case fewer and better students are what is required to rescue modern subjects like media studies from contempt they attract.

I am on a 99.something loss at the moment so my losses are essentially total.

I did some maths last night.
If I put in £500 I breakeven at 4p
If I put in £1000 I breakeven at 2p
The former is looking like a big ask right now. Not sure if I want to increase my stake by another £1000 just to prevent a loss here.
Also a spread of 22% is quite common with this share
Just seems like a colossal gamble.
That said the price did go up x7 not so long ago.
I guess I would recommend against averaging down on this share, but if you want to make that play best of luck to you.

I think I will play around with some numbers numbers to see what sort of rise I required to break even if I put in say £500.

Well if I sell now my transaction fees mean I have less than zero!
I spent a long time advising against putting more money into this share and then one day when it was a little over 1pm it shot up and became a 6-7 bagger. I looked like a idiot for knocking this share, but ultimately my advice remains the same. Be very careful with putting more money in VAL

Got to admit the 75-80% down for me does make these levels a tempting averaging down opportunity. there are 2 main issues.
How much lower can this go - been BIG drops recently so further drops seem perfectly possible. The second issue is will we see £4-5 again? I won't be taking any action soon, but if you know the industry and are seriously brave it might be a great move. Gla

Damn I hate to sell at a loss, but you can't afford to be sentimental. Just have to man up and deal with it, maybe buy back if there is hope of future gains

I haven't looked at PB in a few months. Seems direction is predominantly downwards. Is there a view on the reason for this? is it business results? Major shareholders off loading? Negative news? Is it time to get out?

In all fairness lloy SP has not performed great since dividends restarted.

I have noticed that some on here have been commenting on the rises and falls today. The thing is that if the SP has gone up by 22% and the spread is 20% the increase has been driven by the spread and nothing more. This is why the SP appeared to drop it was the result of the spread being reduced to circa 3%. It is easy to lose money on AIM. Knowing how to intrept movement like this is important if you want to protect yourself. GLA.

Yes got to congratulate you FG. If I put in a mere £500 it would have a massive effect on my Ave price! but that is because I got in years ago. I have to admit I am loath to put in even £500 more due to confidence issues, but I think praise where praise is due. The golden rule I guess is profit is profit. If you are up and you have realised your gain aspirations get out and don't fall foul of being greedy. GLA.

My big concern is that not publishing is indicative that there is no evidence for any val product having any meaningful positive result. If this premise were true (not saying it is) I would continue to delay publication and keep taking the money for as long as possible. It's the reason why I don't want to put any more money in at this time. I will never make any serious money from val with a strategy like that, but I want to achieve now is not to lose more. GLA

I have been looking over the last couple of pages of RNS statements. There are plenty that relate to warrants, holding in company and placements but can't see anything to say what products are at what stage of development. I have taken a very dim view of the BOD over the last year or so and have often recommended not putting any more money in. When the sp struggled to stay above a penny I thought we were heading to bankruptcy. I certainly missed out a few months later when the sp got to around 7p! Well congratulations to those who did well out of that rise. As for me I think I need to cut through all the empty talk about positive results and get clear as to the real value of the work done. I don't think I want to put money in again until there is real data on in human efficacy tests. Can anyone confirm if any val products have got to that stage?

Lol oh dear. I did see the imm collapse yesterday and was very glad I don't own any in imm. A 87% down is dangerously close to total loss. I am sure yesterday was a really brown trousers day for imm holders. Sclp is nothing in comparison and I have a lot of sympathy of anyone who goes through what imm holders have gone through.

Good to see some good posts below. Patience is an issue and LTH fatigue does take its toll. But I got to admit the there might be 3 bites to this cherry is something to cling onto. I will wait and see what happens with the oo. Good luck all.

That is a fair point, but based on that logic alone there is no reason to chose one share from another. I think what I am looking for is something better than blind optimism to justify putting more money into scancell. I am indeed of a confidence boost in scancell a reason to belive in them.

Well I was feeling positive last night thinking I might get away with a small loss if I sold today and then....!!!!!! The quest is is it worth taking up any oo and extend my position or just let it go? It does seem that the sp post oo struggles to get above or even near the oo price. Or that's the way it seems to me after the last 2 placings. Can anyone provide a positive reason (not based on jam tomorrow) for extending a position in this company?
