Phew, just been looking for news stories, think I might have panicked lol there are no news stories that the company is bust.

Have I missed something? Haven't looked at this for a week or so. Is the company still trading?

I have thought the same and very much wanted to vote the BOD out. The thing is that they will take their knowledge with them and I don't know if the is much scope for improvement even if the ip is retained by the company without someone with the knowledge to take it forward. It stuck me the most likely outcome would be that I could take some pleasure in derailing the BOD gravey train, but the company seems to be on its last legs now. I think if you want to get rid of the BOD the question is why and what next.

Hi Nige, not too sure what you are driving at, I thought gains on shares were based on average share price in your share pool and that lifo or fifo therefore would not apply?

I agree ValJu we have staked our cash so we just have to wait wait and see. I don't think I will get my money back on this, but getting some back will be a result. Others with a lower ave sp could make a gain here if things work out. I don't begrudge anyone taking a punt, I just don't want anyone to get carried away and bet their shirt on the basis of what they read on here.

ValJu, PAD, I only advise caution as I have been burnt by this share. We are all grownups and can make our own investing decisions and I hope investments in Val do work out. I however think this is not the right time. My reason for thinking this is that the downward trend is very long established and that I think only evidence that a upward trend can be established can give the required confidence to make this worthy of investment. We haven't had as little as 20 days upward trend in years. Putting you money in now or uping your stake at this time is gambling rather than investing. I hope it pays off, but I only encourage others to think about whether there is evidence that this is an share worth taking a risk on and if this is the right time or circumstance to take that risk. Criticising someone's view based on spelling and typos is lame, it's ideas that matter not how the words are spealt ??

I think RLSG has a ponit the alarm bells should be going off. I want the company to succeed but would not be surprised if it went under by this time next year.

I think the reason that Val does not get interest from big pharma is that there isn't anything to capture their interest at this time. We and indeed a big pharma are waiting on news that the products work. GM has asserted that they do, but assertions are not going to be good enough for a commercial director at a big pharma. It's like asking big pharma to take a punt. They may have done so in the past but I am sure experience means that big pharma is gonna wait rather than take an unnessary risk. I think this company needs to be shored up with meaningful results and confidence from the BOD, both of which are lacking. The irritating thing is that if the company wasn't in such a financial mess it might be more attractive.

It's nice to hear some optimism on this board, but I am still of an opinion that this is just not an investment share. I am not convinced that today's RNS had much merit, but happy if it proves to be good in time to come. I think until some sort of upward trend is established investing here will be a gamble rather than an investment. When was the last time we had as little as a upward trend that lasted 20 days? Untill we start seeing some sort of enduring upward trend I think this share is just too risky to put money into. Sure you might not get the greatest reward, but waiting for some evidence that the share price might actually be able to sustain a higher level will derisk investment greatly. Not sure what will deliver that enduring upward trend, but I think RNSs not involving interesting investment vehicles and the BOD putting some more skin in the game will be part of that as will genuinely positive news about products rather than funding. Hi Mer, think you are probably right. Seems there is a lot of enthusiasm today 100% rises etc. Caution should be word for the day.

Just looked on companies house. Black cat bio Ltd has existed for 19 days. It looks like 401 has been flogged to them in exchange for cash as was mentioned below. Not sure what this means but it might spike today. If it does keep an eye on the spread and you make profit take it before you lose it as the trend is downwards. Be careful not to get greedy.

Hi pad, that's kinda what I am hinting at. It's easy to get wrapped up in the buzz of a possible deal and that probably will give scope for some lucky people to multibag, the problem is that it's a punt. I have lost (pretty much) every penny put into val as a consequence of taking a punt. History, that is historic share prices have shown that this company is a losser there is a strong downwards tend to to sp and no indication of any gain to be made in the long term except for those occasional spikes. As such this is not a share worth taking a punt on, or perhaps more accurately recognise that and invest what you wouldn't miss if you want to take a punt. That said Buffet says the first rule is not to lose money. It only increases the gains you require elsewhere to make make money.

Would be nice if some could multibag. I would settle for a rise sufficient such that I could actually sell and buy back on the envitiable fall.. The spread however is a real killer here. Fingers crossed for some sort of enduring gain. As always I recommend thinking before buying, fomo will make Val investors poor. Buy because you have done your research not because you think its worth a punt, history would suggest it's not worth a punt.

I agree that if you are right this would be real nice punt. Do be careful though invest because you know something not because you got a good feeling. Plenty get burnt by VAL and the SP charts give a clear picture of what the future is (with the exceptional spikes)

When the sp is so low tiny fraction of a penny movements can be reflected in a big % movement. Key thing keep an eye on is the spread. Maybe this is a pump and dump, if so maybe some people might actually make some money here, but with a massive spread you got to wonder if its worth the risk. Good luck to all, but really do think before putting money in here, it is a massive risk.

The problem is that attempting to vote the BOD out doesn't have a clear benefit. If we vote them out, who can run and develop the company /products? It seems that voting the BOD out is throwing the baby out with the bathwater. If the company is a joke we lose our money, if we vote out the BOD we lose our money. Not sure if we can vote out a specific director say the financial or commercial director to make a ponit about the direction /financing of the company, but VAL will always defend themselves on the basis that they are in a cash burning development phase. As much as I am loathed to admit it we maybe better off waiting and seeing. I however do not intend to put anymore money in until the BOD do or if we start having a strong upward trend. Buying on the rise is not recommended, but I need this share to be derisked before I put in anymore.

Sad but true (or at least I suspect true) ValJu. The thing as usual is what is within the contol of the PIs? As far as I see we can either put more money in and average down in the hope (gamble) that it will pay off, or we can refuse to put anymore. I have no confidence that there will be a pay off and a key reason for this is that the BOD do not back their own horse. I could be tempted to reconsider my position, but I am not going to accept a gamble that the BOD won't.

Gilders, if the company is duff it maybe hard to find fault with the BOD and we all are culpable for our own poor investment decisions. That said over the years there have been vacuous updates and annocements of "imminent " updates that don't turn up or turn out to be trivial when they do. There hasn't been any action to prevent pump and dumps. And then the infamous rns advising that the BOD could not give an explanation for a rise resulting in memorable drop in sp.
