Borgie, I think any sensible idea should be considered. The key outcome is to ensure Val has a future. However I think a key component of any solution is some protection form the exploitation of shareholders that has been ongoing for some time. I think I would struggle to give my blessing to any plan where the BOD continue to safeguard their own money whilst expecting shareholders to risk theirs. I think I could consider investing more, but I would be looking to the BOD to 'jump first' under the circumstances.

HeidHoncho, if Val is liquid then it will be hard to liquidate it. The problem is that if Val cannot pay its creditors it will become insolvent and then the BOD would follow the cvl or worse still conpusly liquidation routes. There is absolutely no room for compliancy here. No one really wants to see the company go bust, but there is absolutely no reason for anyone to trust the BOD if they are not willing to work together with shareholders to start turning things around. The problem is that there are so many LTH's who have lost so much that calling in the administrators dosnt have that much more effect on losses made. The really sad thing is the post earlier today that pointed out that if the BOD had brought more shares they would have had more votes. Worse still if they were willing to put their money where their mouth is today's vote might not have been needed.

It also raises questions about the other Val products 101, 201 and 301. 401 as far as I know is the only product ready for a phase 3 trial, that is actually at a stage of testing efficacy. Unless the other products are close to phase 3 I am not sure if they are worth much. I hope to be corrected.

ValJu, there is a lot about black cat that does not make sense. The director is a solicitor rather than a bio tech scientist so how much confidence do you have right there? 401 is a valiseek product. Valiseek was owned 55. 5% by VAL plc and Tangent Reprofiling Ltd - a George Morris directorship) 37%. The remaining 7.5% is owned by suzy dithy. There is no apparent common contol between black cat and any valirx group company as such it is hard to establish anything is wrong with the deal. Given that 401 is a valiseek product its also hard for us to suggest that the deal was bad for us. It would be more property considered a bad deal for valiseek shareholders.

That said liquidating the company is cutting off their nose to spite their face. It would still be beneficial for the BOD to inject some cash to give others reason to do the same. The fact that they don't is the real cause for concern.

If the company is liquid they will need a members vote (see MVL) . Don't think I will be voting in favor of liquidation myself! Other than the option is that I think they will have to do a CVL. We as shareholders get the residue left over after paying creditors, so it is most likely we would not see a penny if the company is liquidated. This is the normal outcome for shareholders.

2 good questions bladehater. The first has been supported by GM with his assertion that it works. The problem being that LTH's are a little doubtful of empty assertions. This in part might answer the second question, that is there is nothing here to interest big pharma. That said if the BOD could report something of substance on their products things could be turned around

ValJu I think the details on the valirx website says it all. One 3% shareholder and a BOD that owns 0.47% of the 1,500,000 odd shares in issue. It must be gauling for those who have a large number of shares who can now work out if they hold more shares than the entire BOD. The wide distribution of shares is why the BOD has power, with so many shareholders out there it is a herculean task to build a concensus, compared to getting concensus in the BOD.

Hi chealsea, I think it will be difficult to differentiate between being hopeless/unlucky from wrong doing. Lots of companies fail and I don't think wrong doing will apply to that many. The real red flag is that there is only one 3% shareholder which means that the company is funded by a load of small timer shareholders. As the BOD are unwilling to put their money in, but continue to hope more and more small timers put their money in instead. That sound to me like the BOD is willing to exploit shareholders and the first strong peice of evidence to demonstrate that the BOD are not acting in the interests of shareholders. If they won't put money in its because they know its a waste. Why would any of us or any potential shareholder put their money in under these circumstances?

The problem with the black cat deal is that it might set a precedence. You are quite right that there might be perfectly sound reasons for it. The concern is what benefit is there to the valiseek shareholders? A contry view could be that the shareholders have been diviorsed from the actual thing of value the Ip. Not saying that this is the case only that the movement of ip should attract some concern. Keeptofacts did post something intesting in that most parents end up being worthless, but I thought one of the reasons we are here is because of the assurance that it does work.

Damn forgot I have purple bricks too. Thankfully most of that investment came from reinvested dividends. I am about 75% down (on total invested) on that one too!

Yup aim hasn't worked out too well for me either. Hold shares in 3 aim companies. Perhaps accepting if I were more relaxed about loses (perhaps selling when I was x% down regardless) I might be in a better position. In the case of quindel I was being too clever by half trying to be contratian so that's totally my fault. I am however sore over valirx largely because I no longer trust the BOD. I also hold shares in ftse dividend payers and in another 10 to 15 years I will recoup the money I have wasted on aim shares. Defiantly going to reinvest those dividends to recoup loses as fast as possible.

Looks like things are getting a bit heated in here again. We don't want this to be brexit take 2. Sure there are two schools of thought on the consolidation issue, but we all share the same objective of wanting our investment to pay off. If the "no camp" wins the consolidation argument all it means is that the company needs to rethink it's funding strategy. The end of the world is not nigh!
