The West Dome Deeps in my opinion was the sole reason the buying of Telfer was feasible.

The LLU is a strata which has been folded upwards sharply and it has 2 or 3 fluid pathways coming up through the fault line depositing their mineralisation in all the reefs as they came up especially in the LLU.

The underground drilling from that drill drive was very limited, they only reached a third of the LLU. To get to the LLU deeper they passed through the core underneath the LLU.

This is what they said about the WDD core in the RNS

“Additionally, drilling has intercepted several broad zones of stockwork mineralisation within the core of the anticlinal hinge. These zones are interpreted to be similar in style to the large stockwork systems that formed part of the mineralisation targeted by the sub-level cave at the Main Dome Underground. Since these zones were not the primary focus of the initial drilling phase, they will be targeted in future drilling programs. ”

“Significant down hole intercepts within these zones include:

§ WUC4550019 with 42.0m @ 1.97 g/t Au & 0.49% Cu (2.56 g/t AuEq) from 294.0m

§ WUC4550030 with 23.3m @ 1.64 g/t Au & 0.54% Cu (2.39 g/t AuEq) from 341.0m

This is a huge volume of mineralised ore.

The WDD has a Havieron similar like crescent but is horizontal will make mining easier and not so deep. It has a mineralised core similar to Havieron breccia suitable for bulk caving.

The unknowns are still the size of it in most directions and there is nothing reported yet reported from the M reefs above the LLU. The reefs are there they’ve been shown in many reports and clues are starting to appear under Stage 7 and 2 in the last 2 RNS.

The attendees at my December presentations got a precursor to the February RNS, I was as excited then as I am now by the prospects of the WDD but now I feel my enthusiasm was correct.

One month has made a huge difference well how about a whole year, when our main asset was Havieron and no Free Cashflow.

“The existing Telfer plant treating open pit and underground ore consists of two largely independent trains each capable of processing approximately 10 Mt/a, consisting of gyratory crushing, semi-autogenous grinding (SAG) and ball mill (SAB) grinding, sequential flotation of copper and pyrite, pyrite concentrate regrind followed by cyanide leaching and copper concentrate filtration. The two trains are configured the same as each other through the crushing, milling, copper and pyrite rougher flotation (except that Train 1 has two additional pyrite rougher cells) and copper cleaning stages. The two trains combine into a single stream at the tailings thickener, copper concentrate filtration, and downstream from the pyrite roughers (pyrite cleaners/pyrite regrind/pyrite leaching).”

Doesn’t look as though they could much more to the ore.

Shaun did mention at a Townhall about the issues with pyrites going through the plant.

I would be surprised if there wasn’t a scavenger unit already in the train, could be a reason why the recovery factor went up.

I was thinking a retreatment plant would be better suited to those tailings, regrinding and flotation preferably but you would never get to a 100% recovery factor .

There’s a plant schematic in the admissions document I believe for the trains.

Hi Element in the years I’ve followed JLP I’ve never known them do gold tailings.

Their gold recoveries are very small and come from the chrome modules where the concentrates contain the 6 PGE of which gold is the 6th, a very small quantity 36,000 oz in total PGE last year so gold quantities are minuscule.

The Zambian copper belt is the same geology and age to Nifty. JLP expertise is the copper modules, there is little gold recovered here.

The Telfer tailings will need grinding again for the reagents to work and then refloating. Gold being recovered from the copper concentrate as a credit. Gold credits pay for the concentrate processing if the grades are below 20g/t then they keep all the credits and repay the copper value. Trial would be needed to make sure the grades were higher than 20 g/t and the bismuth and a…nic levels are low enough not to cause a debit.

At these gold prices it maybe just viable to treat these tailings but would be best to get specialists in who can get the most out of it but it will a lot.

After working on Aberfan tip years ago I have a strong interest in what can be done about tailings. The ones Jubilee are dealing with are abundant in abandoned copper, leaching these is fairly simple process and they have a plant to process the resultant concentrate.

They can also process oxide and sulphate ores together, I’m not sure how that’s done.

Leaching is not likely to produce a lot from Telfer tailings. They will be a right mixture of grades and minerals.

I remember Jim06 on here telling us about them dumping high grade ore into the tailings when anything went wrong with the plant.

Havieron ore has an 87% recovery for gold and copper that leaves around 12-13% going to the tailings. That’s a huge amount. I would have thought that Ggp will be looking at new technologies to be able to lift these recoveries to prevent so much going to tailings.

I did talk to Shaun about the tailings he knows there’s a resource there, having large funds available will be handy to employ specialists to treat the tailings.

I’ve worked out there could be 250 cubic metres in those dams, that’s more than in Havieron .

There was a Newcrest exploration quarterly report in around 2021 saying no significant assays to report. Who were they trying to kid.

The report I was reading was from 2004 the gold price then was way below what it was in 2021 , the average price was around $1800 then. Today is a totally different story , a gold price of $3,326 and a committed company to finding new ore sources.

Good question but opening up Havieron is not a possibility at the moment. An open pit would involve moving millions of tons of waste ore from the cover far too much in an environmentally sensitive area.

The idea of stoping is sound as backfilling as they go prevents the surface being disturbed and also stops the 3 aquifers draining into it.

It’s a relatively dry mine so introducing water into it would be a mistake. Pumping water out from 2,000m down would be a huge task.

The aquifers refill Lake Dora so I doubt they will be able to get environmental approvals to drop the surface in a block caving operation.

Telfer on the other hand is a wet mine, it’s not got aquifers like Havieron just underground water and has to be continually pumped. The last RNS and interviews picked up on how that heavy rain affected production a little. Havieron shouldn’t be effected like that.

That photo last month from Stuart on twitter showed a big truck going into the mine all of that benching it was on will be going in Stage 7. All of that rock face on the left will be going and the area where the photo was taken.

It’s hard to believe it’s exactly one month since the last Stroud meeting, the share price then was only 9.7p

That was the day the Telfer MRE came out and I had to hurriedly change my slides for the presentations. Well what a month since then. The volumes indicated a mine life extension to 8 years upto 31st December 2024, well that is way out of date now.

The Stage 8 in the 15 month plan is still continuing with not a lot left and morphing into the Stage 7 cutback. Newcrest’s original Stage 7 cutback was only on the SW benching, Ggp’s is now going around the north end of the pit and taking in the NE side and into the saddle between pits 9 and 10.

In the admissions document SRK stated the Stage 7 cutback couldn’t keep the plant open on it’s own, well Ggp’s design has changed that.

Monday and Tuesday saw monumental RNSs with the quarterly and reserve report issued, these showing the West Dome pits 9 and 10 potential of removing the saddle making this effectively one pit. There must be well over 10 years life in this pit now and to it still looks open underneath these potential zones and to the south and under pit 10.

Looks phenomenal at todays gold price of $3,326 - at the Stroud meeting it was $3,000

I can’t wait for next Thursdays Tamworth meeting to explain my thoughts.

I hope I haven’t got to redo my slides again it’s taken me ages.

The mine plan before that

As Goldworm says the Grace anomaly would make a great fit with this group. It used to belong to Newcrest but they let it go.

Pascalle would also fit in as it’s close to Trotmans Gossan anomaly

Backdoor is from surface and goes down about 75m . It’s open at depth.

Copper is there in good grades but bit sporadic.

I’ve been assisting Paddy today positioning those drill pads.

Think I’ve pinned them down to “Trotmans central” on M45/399

Dolphy has only had one diamond drill that I can see, it’s Backdoor that’s got the 200,000oz resource.

Shaun’s remark about joining them up must be between Backdoor and Dolphy. The faultline seems to be controlling the mineralisation to the SE of it.

Backdoor north is further to the NE and Mingen to the SW.

Big Tree I’m having difficulty pinning down to either M45/399 or 400

Big tree west is definitely on M45/400

Big Tree has 115,000 oz

Big tree west has about 25,000oz

I haven’t seen a quantity for Trotmans central

At Havieron we have a steeply dipping dyke. I’ve always thought they could mine the footwall side of it after the stoping is complete using this next method:-

This method would not open up to the surface leaving the surface and aquifers intact.

The VSC at Telfer under the Main Dome and below the LLU consists mainly of stockwork.

This is made up of the thin B reefs and fractured rock in between filled with hot molten fluids which is now quartz. This contains variable amounts of mineralisation, low and very high grade.

Could have bulk tonnages from here but a handling method will need to be looked at to get it to the hoist.

Could cause a bit of a headache for the mine planners if there is stockwork under the LLU in the West Dome Deeps that could also be bulk caved.

At Telfer right at the bottom to the east side of the void is a zone called the Rey . This is only small but it’s a high grade steeply dipping deposit. It’s being mined by a long hole mining method:-

The 2 arms on the crescent are shown on the existing mining plan as having the access drives driven right through the centre of them. This suggests to me that they may intend to use a long hole method on these 2 arms.

“§ Incrementally higher commodity prices have been used to calculate the NSR values within the Mineral Resource estimate (US$1,700/oz Au and US$3.75/lb Cu and a USD:AUD exchange rate of 0.72 for the updated MRE, compared with US$1,600/oz Au and US$3.50/lb Cu and a USD:AUD exchange rate of 0.72 used in the March 2022 MRE) which have resulted in more Mineral Resources being reported above the NSR cut-offs, noting however that due to the high NSR value throughout most of the South East Crescent Zone this change is not considered to have resulted in a material change in the South East Crescent Zone Resources. “

That was from the MRE 21st December 2023.

That should have a big effect on the FS and the economic boundaries of the ore (NSR)

$1700 didn’t have an effect when they updated it from $1600.

What effect will $3300 make and the lower Aus$ exchange rate of 0.63 ?

I quite agree with comments about Ggp. I keep looking and I haven’t found another company like it.

Ggp has certainly not run its course, you can see that from what they’re finding underneath the West Dome pit and I don’t mean what’s in the 15 month plan which is nearly gone or the next stages 7 and 2.

The southern , central and pit 10 potential looks very promising for years to come not just a 2 year plan. My research is going deeper and longer than the latest long section indicates.

The Main Dome pit north end could be a replica of what they are finding now in the West Dome, Shaun hinted this on Tuesday.
