Hazrat, if I remember correctly the rapid onset time of MED was a major selling point (or FUM management made it a USP)....the potential partners pointed out that it wasn't possible to make the 'rapid onset' claim for MED with the placebo effect experienced in the initial trial. That is probably why they didn't do a deal (or a big factor).

The new trial with increased strengths of the active ingredient may provide better data to support the 'rapid onset' claim....hopefully.

The increased strength of the active ingredient used in the latest trial will hopefully have results that will overcome this placebo effect. To pretend that potential partners aren't concerned about the placebo effect would be wrong in my opinion. Trial results must be a matter of days away.

DanH, I took buzzby's average to be 202p. Which historically shouldn't be out of the question....but from where the SP has been for the last year or so, it looks like a long road back to above £2.

I remember a few years back that 'some' people were saying that the dividend was as safe as houses because - despite the fact it wasn't covered - the company had oodles of free cash flow....I never understood the argument. I suppose they have been proven wrong.

It seems that the VOD management don't have a clear path to enhancing shareholder value and the company is being blown about by news events and rumours.

Big pharma weren't interested in a partnership because of the placebo effect. If the trial results due very soon show positive results for more severe ED sufferers then potential partners would be very interested (IMO). SHouldn't be long to wait now.

The placebo effect may have something to do with having a sexy blonde nurse applying the ointment!!....unless MED includes a sexy young nurse in the retail price (male or female nurse options would be available).

Bill, didn't you know...Kazakh has a winter every 2 years.

Seriously, production in a bitter Kazakh winter is a lot more difficult than the summertime. The last year or 2 of ALtn production has been especially underwhelming....so I expect recent investors will be anticipating something a bit more exciting....unfortunately until the investment is made then any uplift in production over recent years is likely to be minimal. I'm more interested to see what their plans are and whether they are realistic.

Wait for results?....that would be in March or April.

News about the bond is due next week....and hopefully there will be some guidance on how they are going to develop the mine(s) before the next set of results.

The next set of official results is unlikely to be good (IMO)....the Kazakh winter is in full swing and they wont have had the benefits of the investments kink in yet.

Realistic plans are preferable to most likely poor results (IMO).

I believe that Bucolic has been spot on the money wrt FUM and the prospects of MED. The NHS market for MED is probably limited to patients who cannot take Viagra (or generic Viagra) for medical reasons (counter indicative?!)...where the sales potential is much smaller.

There may be other potential for MED that a clever marketing manager may want to promote (along with FUM management no doubt)....whether that potential is realised is another matter.

A lot will depend on the results of the trials...so not long to wait now.

SF, isn't that fairly obvious.

If the money is in addition then what are they going to use it for?
If the money replaces funds already agreed then why have money through a bond at a reported rate of 9% when the current bank loan is nearer 6%?

Hopefully if the bond is successful the management will give us some details on how the money is to be invested in the business....obviously it will have to generate a significant return on the investment to pay a reported 9% pa over 3 years, plus the original £10m.

ALtyn is a company that have never delivered on their big ambitions.

A 2nd plant & 2mT pa is pie in the sky...when they have learned to walk perhaps they can start talking about jogging, then even a run. Until then it's all just a dream (IMO).

New money could be used to develop an open pit at Teren-Sai I suppose.
