Rx-div - haha your “majority rule” comment says it all, don’t you understand democracy? You’re describing a tyranny. The majority don’t rule over the minority, the majority earn executive rights in a parliament. Can you think of any examples where the majority government haven’t ruled ?

The leave vote was made up of so many things, not one choice represented by the numbers. Apart from the protest votes etc etc, which I can agree is not part of this discussion, but the leave campaign offered no manifesto or explanation, whilst 3 separate campaigns offered entirely different tones ranging from loony left wanting to leave for loony left reasons right through to screaming swastika right wing loons. HEAVY - if I understand your point about WTO trading you are not correct. We currently trade through the WTO on very favourable EU negotiated articles. America, New Zealand and many others have already won their case to stop the U.K. carrying on using these preferential terms, because the size of the U.K. on its own no longer qualifies. This means the U.K. will have to settle for far less, the majority of our trading partners await to take advantage of our weak position.

Bertram I don’t take your point about leave lies, this is part of a very bogus argument. Forecasts based on the best information from the right sources are not lies, they are forecasts. Then to watch these institutions work post referendum to make these forecasts not come true is another important point. As is we haven’t left yet as is the different fiscal policy. On the leave side it’s very different, reading lunatic world views show how theselies were deliberately designed to misinform, I.e these lies were lies the minute they were uttered, to distort reality and sow division. I also struggle to see where car manufacturers and virtually every other industry confirms the importance of the EU trading environment. Brexit has very little to do with what’s going on, what this far right agenda needs is chaos. An indication of the confusion are insults linking me to previous German agendas, the least Brexit supporters can do is be honest and recognise every & I mean every swastika waving lunatic is on their side of the argument (for some reason ). Taking responsibility for that should in any right mind change their calculation, regardless, but there’s no right minded left & that’s because of the poison from the leave campaign, which by the way was actually 3 fully funded messages, leave.eu, vote leave & beleave. That’s another indication this wasn’t democracy, 3 messages all selling a different version of Brexit.

Rxdav - the uk steel industry is under pressure because of Chinese over supply. They sre failing because our european neighbours no longer see the U.K. as a safe place to do business in this case steel more to come. The other bit conveniently missed out is our steel industry was broken by Brexit style economics which should be the real issue here. Our EU friends wanted a 400% tariff on Chinese steel, the U.K. government following Brexit style ideology stopped it. This is what the ERG call protectionism...... Patrick Minford the “Brexit Economist” has already said he expects pretty much all U.K. manufacturing & farming to die because it can’t possibly compete in a free trade environment. Ergo that’s the reason why we are in the EU in the first place. A group of similar countries with similar standards of living with common values, cooperating together. Health care and our western values cost money, something other parts of the world do not need to factor into their price.

Hey Fleccy, there are a couple of things, one is the U.K. will never need to do anything it doesn’t want to whilst in the EU. Federal state is pretty much nonsense with the current climate, although bringing in Eastern block countries has been difficult it makes the prospect of closer union very unlikely & as I’ve said U.K. has exemption codified. It’s nonsense. The worst of it is voting anti EU rabid dogs into the EU parliament, apart from the disgrace they will bring upon us internationally, the only reason to do this is out of spite. I dunno how you think the U.K. future will be made any better by making us look like spiteful morons?

Fleccy you’ve just lost all credibility. First of all it’s not just remain politicians. 99% of experts in this field are not wrong. GBern, I would say the opposite, most technology leaps do eventually deliver, markets are usually over optimistic on time frames, so in 2000ish there was a dot com bubble, but 5,6 years later with the start of the iPhone I would say it eventually delivered. 5G I agree might be the same, I read a really interesting article which tried to explain 5G wont replace fixed line broadband any time soon, it explained each 5G site needs backhaul which is going to take time or use its spectrum up to transit traffic.... also talked about new fibre standards on their way. So far I’m inclined to agree with arguments on this board, reluctance to upgrade sets, extra cost for something most people can get from 4G. I’m not sure a better connection at cost flies, when you don’t need a better connection to do what you want to do when mobile. But I don’t know
