I think you will find the U.K. would equally be in similar level et is of debt if they had followed the same policy, I also allured to that too. Obviously that would be U.K., Spain, Italy etc etc.

The flaw in your one sided argument is U.K. is not part of the euro & is exempt from any euro bailouts etc etc etc.

I personally want to keep the pound, always have. As much as you want to make it the Euro has no place in any discussion about almost anything unless you’re in it or going on holiday where it’s spent.

The U.K. economy was crushed by a world wide crash in the last days of a labour government. I have to say also Browns moves to stabilise the world’s monetary system have later been lauded.

Many european countries, Italy, Spain, Greece etc etc chose the alternative to austerity spending big on infrastructure. Time will tell I guess which option proved to be the best long term

Mean while U.K. government has significantly increased U.K. overall debt with very little to show for it as opposed to infrastructure investment has led to a far worse financial position but with improved infrastructure ?

Personally I liked John major. I liked how he navigated a different but similar right wing problem in the Conservative party. He also found a way to continue our relationship in Europe whilst keeping us out of euro, out of schengen & a guarantee they U.K. would be outside closer union

I liked Blair too, some of the best years in my opinion came during his time. Unlike others I don’t blame him for “the war” because I can work out America and Bush gave him no choice what so ever, the call came & it was our turn to respond.

There’s only two differences in our thinking

First is I think the Conservative party has been hijacked, I don’t recognise it or it’s actions. It’s been bad for a while, I’m appalled by the way it has behaved towards “ordinary people”. I’ve already given examples but they all come under the banner of unnecessary contempt

I have no faith in the current collection of cabinet ministers or their attitude towards their democratic responsibilities to us all

I think it’s time to go left, I’d rather it was less left but if Corbyn goes too far, I’ll vote right next time, because that’s the only way citizens in this country can control political extremes.

Voting for bad behaviour from a government can only lead to one thing, subsequent politicians will become more and more extreme to win power, might want to think where that will lead for our kids.

I personally believe it’s a voters responsibility to look beyond self interest and deliver their actual responsibility to maintain our precious democracy.

Brexit is a perfect example where citizens failed in my opinion & the reason why we are where we are. Soon as the leave campaign engaged in deception, made no attempt to describe what a leave voter actually meant, ran 3 separate funded campaigns (2 of which by very shady characters & money) vote leave, beleave & leave EU all selling different leave options it was an abuse of our system & people should have turned their back on it

This doesn’t even begin to consider the deliberate division & echos of pre war like claims of “Will of the people” “judges are enemies of the state” and many more. In my opinion these things are a disgrace & undeserving of a vote, regardless of what I want to happen

I realise you will say a labour government is just as bad, but it’s not actually is it? & if it is they won’t get very far before we can go right again back and forth until we get a government we deserve.

You are right though about unchecked right wing politics being equally dangerous. This thought of yours brings you closer to my political position, I don’t support Corbyn labour or socialism, but I recognise the cruelty of the current government and think another term with the characters in position of power will be a step too far. There’s something wrong with a society which can’t recognise the contempt for its people Grenfell, windrush, universal credit & food banks etc etc shows.

So racism is a social concept to protect a minority with no or little power, from a dominant group with all the power. To misunderstand this concept is, in itself deeply dodgy. To claim a minority criticising a powerful majority as racism is in itself deeply suspect, does a powerful majority need to hijack this Concept?
