I guess a few folk will have set sells at 1000 to bank some profits. I am guessing we may see a slight fall back to mid 900 before the next leg up.

Avocet123.......I disagree, the shares have not hit the market, that happens on the 29th, from that date TUI share price will be massively diluted so what I am saying there is little point in me buying today at 375 if I can buy shares on the 29th fir a great deal less than that due to the dillution of all the RI shares coming onto the market that day!

What date are we expecting the trading update?

That is better........topped up some more at 158.5 and just sold those on at 163. Reinvested into Redrow RDW as they report later this month. Now holding 3 builders with TW RDW and BDEV I Will see what the next few months bring.

Avocet123........I am only going by what happened with IAG and RR once the RI shares hit the market. Why would I buy today at 370 when I could possibly buy at the beginning of February once the RI shares hit the market at a possible 250 or less? Please explain that.

I cannot fully understand why folk are continuing to buy now prior to the new RI shares hitting the market at the end of the month. Surely on that date you will be able to pick these up closer to £2 rather than £4 or am I missing the point somewhere.

Not the best of news but one that was expected using most of Direct Energy sale money to reduce debt and fill the pension deficit. Not sure how the market will react but I expect a down day.

Playingtheodds.........Feck! What has a take away company to do with a house builder? Maybe because dear Nicola has just but the dampers on takeaways in Scotland could be a reson?

Castle......easily done, I am even not sure what month we are in!! I have a few transport stocks along with nearly every other factor! Builders, Oil, miners, travel, holiday, airline, insurance and a few AIM stocks that are now starting to multibag. In general the market all down today but has given a few opportunities to sell a few that were in profit to pick up a few bargains. I say bargains as they seem that way today but tomorrow may be a different kettle of fish.

Hellyeah.........you need to keep up here, most of that dosh is destined to fill the pension deficit. As to your comment “We can only go up from here” I will quote another one “Dont count your chickens till they come home”
I live in hope that the slow tick up will continue but the main adjective there is “Hope”

I am convinced that the insurance arm of the company will help keep our heads above water till the cruise and holiday sector get moving again.....I guess that will be no time soon but I think insurance doing pretty OK.
I like what they are doing with their price fix over a 3 year period. Looking at quotes it does not come cheap but I am convinced the oldies amongst us prefer anything that makes life easier. I think to be able to determine a % of your income over the next 3 years bodes very well indeed.

Mrlong......you may have done well there, if anything like IAG the price of the Rights tanked after a few days. Just sit on the money now and buy back in once the RI issue shares hit the market at the end of the month, only then will folk realise the true value of TUI.

Playingtheodds.......there is a possibility that “good news” is already factored in? The price has held up well over the past week when everything else has gone up and down like ladies draws on boat race night. I guess it all depends on what spare cash is left over after funding the pension deficit and what they intend to use it for.

Todays fall has given a few of us an ideal top up opportunity before Thursdays results. Not sure of the reason behind the fall maybe the fear of further lockdown restrictions closing some sites but to me it was an opportunity not to be missed. I expect a cracking update on Thursday with a return to dividend payments this year.
I think we will see a nice bounce tomorrow as folk scramble to get back aboard before the update. Good luck to you all and stay safe.

Flip of a coin time........do I top up here or TW. Both have trading updates on Thursday, I know TW. Will be a cracker but CNA a bit unknown. Another game of roulette, do I pick red or do I pick black.
I am trending towards TW right now as it is falling right now and could give a good buying opportunity. Problem is if lockdown restrictions increase they could shut the builders down.
