RE: DRILLING UPDATE, KONKOLA WEST COPPER PROJECT8 Jul 2024 10:27
No posts and only a handful of trades.
Anyone who claims that the communication here since spudding is good or even adequate is totally kidding themselves. Having said that, the lack of decent updates is probably understandable as Kobold is a private company with no accountability to shareholders and that has been reflected in the lack of communication about this important drill.
Just for comparison, Xtract Resources drilled a deep copper hole in Australia a few years ago. The drill spud on 16th December 2020 and reached 213m by 22nd Dec, having hit significant copper mineralisation at 110m, with a handheld XRF scanner used to record the grades. At that point drilling stopped for Xmas and then resumed on 7th January 2021. By 12th January drilling had progressed to 607m and by 15th January to 807m, 18th Jan - 975m, 19th Jan - 1047m, 20th Jan - 1089m, with TD reached on 22nd Jan at 1147m with mineralisation extending over the whole depth though becoming weaker from 1050m. The total drill time to reach TD at 1147m was roughly 21 days. Including the spud update there were 9 official RNS announcements from spud to TD and the share price rose from 1.5p to 9.15p. And that was all from Colin Bird who is never a great communicator at the best of times.
