I always enjoy reading Mr T's posts. I think he is a very serious man whose heart is in the right place. If i were in any sort of trouble, he would be the kind of honest, caring soul I'd go to for help. He would certainly be an improvement on my local vicar (female) who came to see me about 3 years ago and ate 3 out of 4 Tunnock's snowballs and talked mostly about herself. I ended up consoling her!
Can you buy Tunnocks shares?
Have a nice weekend

I was just about to write something about silver and saw your post first. I agree with you that people are in this game to make money. I read a fair few sites that push gold and every one of them goes on about manipulation and how much the price should be higher. If that's the case, if they had my interests at heart they'd be telling me to hang off buying until the banks were prepared to let the price rise. Anyway, today has seen a nice bit of gold price manipulation - a huge contract dump to bring the price down. It looks like we should get a test of that $1820ish level towards the end of next week.
Silver always promises so much but rarely delivers. Looking at the charts over the last couple of decades shows long periods of nothing with two huge spikes - both due to fiddling, to put it mildly. I don't own any silver (only a cutlery set - ha ha) but I'd have to pay 20% VAT and capital gains tax to go solid. So the price rise from purchase would have to be pretty big in order to be in profit. I'm going to wait until silver makes a real move and perhaps buy an ETF. That's not ideal but I can sell it instantly when i need to. Platinum, on the other hand, is a very small market and not open to as much manipulation - same thing for palladium. That's because PIs rarely buy those metals. So I might buy some platinum when the price is right.
Have a nice weekend.

OK. Steph and I have just sent our requests for Safekeeping Holding Confirmation.
I just cannot see what one or two people, who are quite happy to waste their time winding up members on this board, find so difficult in filling out a form with their name , account number and number of shares owned on it and sending it electronically to their broker.
I have just had to agree to a management buyout of Kaz Minerals for, frankly, a totally rip-off price. It was formed in 1988, I think, and the company has used shareholder money to build up a great business. Now, with the price of copper zooming and likely to continue that way for years, greedy little creeps have decided they want the company on the cheap.
How do you fancy RKH going the same way for 10p or less? Well, if you are a genuine holder, I'd guess the answer is no.

Don't go all wobbly on us Godders99. You're our second largest shareholder so far on this board with 3 million. Only Glen has a larger holding at 3.5 million, I believe.
Aoife
My work colleague will also support this motion. We'll send off our forms tomorrow.
Too keep the list size down all who have previously indicated are in group 1 list.
Please cut and paste list, and add your name and shareholding if also supportive.

Gold is testing the $1780 support. I'll see how the NYSE listed Canadian miners finish this evening. If they finish only marginally down, it may indicate that gold will have another go at breaking $1800 tomorrow. It would be so good to see Centamin finish the week in the 120s.
Aoife
Centamin is looking strong now considering the other miners are down a bit today with gold. I suppose we now need some information on new licences, the outstanding legal issue (or is that effectively put to bed?) - anything else?
Good times...good times.

I think 6 is asking a lot. Going from 2 to 5 will increase the difficulty. I believe in true democracy and if a majority want 1 to 5, I'll go along with it.
This is like being pirates - they made decisions by democratic voting!

Sorry, I posted my last message before being able to read Glenrothes 1969 post.

SpaceHoppa,
I tend to agree with you. I think publishing results of the AGM alone, perhaps, would give the BODs the necessary jolt required. These people get away with things because they believe the 'proles' are too stupid and lazy to collect together and force some action. It's an idea that politicians rely on! By forwarding this resolution, it will prove that we are serious, and if their behaviour continues in its current fashion, we will go further. Things may develop in the future that would negate the need to go any further, of course.
I know many shareholders would really like to put the boot in now - I fully sympathize with that feeling - but my proposal would at least cause the BODs to rethink.
Aoife
Yes, I believe gold will make that breakthrough soon. My two Canadian miners are also beginning to pull away now - they've been up and down every day since I bought them. I had a dividend from one last week - will reinvest at the right time.
I sold my Centamin purchase from yesterday into this morning's rise. That's the car repair bill covered. I don't want to give myself sleepless nights by being too far into Cenatmin. Obviously I'm keeping my main holding for the long term. Just telling it for the record - keeping it honest! Centamin all good. Pleased to be here.
Aoife
A decent improvement from the previous quarter. AISC much lower, fcf much higher. Very good. No wonder the Directors bought in. A nice rise in the gold price over the next few days could give Centamin a nice leg up.

Yes, I agree with you. My query was with FireAnt. Why wait for gold to hit resistance before buying your shares? If you were a trader, you'd be buying shares now and selling them at resistance, surely?
Anyway, it wasn't me who put that big order in at the bell - some hope!
Regards
Aoife
I don't quite understand the logic behind that. I think $1825 will be the first big resistance as it was a large accumulation on the way down. Hence, weaker hands shedding shares just thankful for getting their money back and being out. Then having regrets a few weeks later when the shares are well up and holders getting the nice dividend.
I could be wrong, of course. Time will tell.
Aoife
I feel gold just needs to get rid of these weaker hands at around the $1800 mark. It shouldn't be too long to see them out of the way. That's what I'm thinking, anyway.
A
Very nice, ElProfessor. Apologies - price paid just under 114p - just updating my chart.
A
Just added 10% to overall holding - nabbed just under 113p. Those must be short term - after ex div otherwise I will be so overweight Centamin. Mind you, if they keep rising, I may wish I added more. I've been know to change my mind.
Anyway, such courage deserves a Tunnocks Tea Cake at 3. Now, where did I put them?
A
I put a buy order in today which didn't quite get hit. Only for a smallish amount but I can see gold doing quite well for the next few days/weeks. I can't see much else to buy at the moment - looked into POLY but not sure.
Driving home yesterday, I saw a crash in front of me. Not the usual car crash, though. There was a van on the opposite side of the road which had pulled up. It was transporting three Portaloos and one had fallen off and hit a couple of cars in front of me travelling on my side of the road. The guy in the transporter looked like something from the Beverly Hill Billies.
It didn't look as if much damage had been done, but as I eventually passed them, I gave one of the victims my business card and told him I'd be a witness if required. When I had my bad car crash years ago (2005), a really nice guy from Croydon did exactly same thing for me and he was required as a witness. I vowed to do the same if I ever faced a similar situation. So, I kept my promise. I hope I'm not required though: 'Yes, your Honour, that is quite correct, this gentleman's car was attacked by a loo.'
Isn't life strange?
Aoife
PS if anyone comes out with 'that's a s@it story', I won't be impressed...lol
